Finished in Silver Metallic over Black leather upholstery, this 1979 Porsche 930 Turbo was originally sold by Gateway Porsche/Audi of Portland Oregon featuring optional Sport Seats, a limited-slip differential, and an electric sunroof. It was maintained by the original owner until 2014 with just over 7k miles driven purchased by the seller in late 2016. The car benefits from approximately $10k in service under current ownership and earned the Best of Show and “Mike Jaffee Excellence was Expected” awards at the 2015 Porsches on the Bay Concours in Miami. Accompanied by comprehensive records, the original window sticker, and owner’s manuals, this 911 Turbo Coupe is now being offered for auction out of Nevada with approximately 9k miles showing on the odometer.
This 930 came factory-finished in Silver Metallic (L939) and features Turbo-specific bodywork including wide fenders, a front air dam, and a “Tea Tray” rear spoiler. It was fitted with Bosch H4 headlamps under current ownership and is equipped with front fog lights, a fender-mounted antenna, an electric sunroof, a rear window wiper, black stone guard decals, and 16” Fuchs alloy wheels. The car rides on Pirelli Cinturato P7 tires from 2018. The seller believes the driver’s door was refinished upon initial import to the U.S., however, the rest of the car’s paint is said to be original. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The Black leather interior showcases optional Sport Seats with a matching headliner and a three-spoke leather steering wheel. Other accessories include power windows, a power-adjustable passenger-side mirror, an updated R134a air-conditioning system, automatic heat control, a quartz clock, Turbo-logo carpet floor mats, and an original Porsche-Blaupunkt radio.
Rated at 300 HP and 291 lb.-ft of torque, the turbocharged and intercooled 3.3-liter flat-six engine is paired with a 4-speed manual gearbox and an optional limited-slip differential. The seller notes an aftermarket stainless-steel muffler was installed under prior ownership. Maintenance under the seller’s ownership includes the replacement of the wastegate and recent oil leak repairs at a valve cover and oil return line.
This sale will include the original owner’s manuals and Porsche warranty booklet, the original window sticker, a toolkit, a spare tire, sales literature, service records, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “This time capsule car is one of the best kept and documented of any 930 Turbo in the US. Wearing iconic silver over black it is a showstopper that can be enjoyed on the road and on the lawn.”

US 930's with the banana heat exchangers and thermal reactors were rated at 260HP
I’ve driven this car and it’s as tight as it is stunning!
Wish I have the funds to buy it!
I think I read somewhere that the original headlight surrounds are included with the sale....are they painted exterior silver or are they chrome as well?
Hello Pcar community and welcome to the auction for my 1979 930 Turbo. This is a truly special piece of Porsche history in terms of condition, authenticity, and documentation. I encourage buyers to spend time looking through the records on the car that date back to delivery. The records tell a story not just of the maintenance and repair work that was completed, but especially of the meticulous care that was bestowed upon the car by the gentleman who owned the car for the first 35 years of its life and then after he made the decision to sell it. I have decided to allow the car to move to its next caretaker as the miles are too low and the condition too great for me comfortably use the car as I had originally planned. I welcome questions and will do my best to answer them. The car is located in Northern Nevada and I welcome buyers to come see the car in person.
Beautifully preserved example. Surprised the infamous thermal reactors have survived so many years. Speaks to the originality and dedication to the way it was.
Let’s get this party started!
