Finished in Black over a Cork leather interior, this 1979 Porsche 928 features a 5-speed manual transaxle paired with its 4.5-liter V8 engine. It benefits from some recent service including a new clutch and is now being auctioned out of Oregon with approximately 130k miles showing on the odometer.

This 928 is finished in Black and rides on factory 16” manhole cover alloy wheels. Equipment includes pop-up headlamps, headlight washers, integrated fog lights, a rear window wiper, and dual exhaust tips. The seller notes some areas of the exterior were refinished under prior ownership and the car rides on 245/50 Federal Super Steel 595 tires. Some cosmetic imperfections can be seen in the photo gallery.

The cabin is lined with tan carpeting and features Cork leather upholstery covering the seats, door panels, dashboard, center console, and headliner. Accessories include power windows and mirrors, an electric sunroof, a black leather three-spoke steering wheel, cruise control, an analog clock, a Blaupunkt Monterey SQR 23 stereo, and an air conditioning system that is currently inoperable. The seller indicates signs of wear on the driver’s seat and some cracks on the dashboard.

A fuel-injected 4.5-liter V8 delivers up to 230 HP and 253 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual transaxle. The car includes power-assisted rack and pinion steering and four-wheel disc brakes that were reportedly serviced in 2023 along with a clutch replacement. The seller adds that the engine idles high.

This sale will include a service manual and a clean title.

@TexasTRex 2nd Gear Synchro is an issues that comes and goes. I believe the high idle issue relates to the second gear issue. We haven't gone into diagnosis what is the culprit for high idle. A video will be posted with the lights and sunroof working. I will check on the Front Ball Joints. Thank you.

No Reserve, guess the seller has decided it is time for this one to go since it didn't meet the Reserve on the last 3 tries on 2 different action sites.

The write up does not mention the 2nd synchro issue, has that been corrected? Any idea what the cause of the fast idle is? Does the a/c compressor come on and run or is the a/c not functioning a serious issue?

Can you post a video of the sun roof opening and closing and the headlights going up and down?

Last question for now, can you confirm if the front ball joints are the aluminum-housed units or have they been replaced by steel?
