This 1979 Porsche 911SC Coupe has been transformed with a 930-style Slant Nose body kit including widened steel fenders, rockers, and pop-up headlamps. It carries a rebuilt 3.0-liter flat-six engine that drives the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual gearbox. Recently serviced and with approximately 33k miles shown, this custom 911SC is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Virginia.
The exterior has been modified with widened steel bodywork including rear quarters with integrated air intakes, louvered front fenders with pop-up headlamps, a front valence with integrated driving lights, boxed rocker panels, and a Tea Tray rear spoiler. The car is finished in White and rides on matching 16” Fuchs wheels with colored Porsche-crest center caps. Additional images are provided in the gallery.
The black leather interior includes custom reupholstered Sport Seats, an aftermarket polished shift knob, and upgraded Boston Acoustics speakers paired with an aftermarket head unit. Factory features include power windows, air conditioning, and a sunroof. Some signs of wear are noted as well as a small tear on the bottom of the driver’s seat.
Up to 180 HP comes from an air-cooled 3.0-liter flat-six engine that drives the rear wheels by way of a 5-speed 915 manual gearbox. The engine is said to have been rebuilt under prior ownership at 25k miles during the time of the Slant Nose body conversion, and the seller states a full service was completed within the last 100 miles.
This sale will include a clean title.

@cord4530 I agree with you on all fronts. I do think that with some digging, this car will reveal some secrets. My hope was that those secrets would show this is a diamond in the rough, but it could just as easily reveal a rusty polished turd that was hacked together. A little more homework, documentation and better photographs would have opened bigger checkbooks and brought all the money for this. Whoever the buyer is, please keep us posted on what secrets you uncover.
Sold for $43,911
I’m flattered this guy is copying my bidding format?
@Begodo I think at least one of these bidders is a friend trying to bump the price up toward the reserve. The car may very well be worth every penny of $60k, but the lack of information giving a clear indication of condition (and quality of the conversion) made me too nervous to do any serious bidding. Under car photos added confirmed that an engine-out reseal would be a necessity. Most of the areas common for rust on these G-bodies were not shown in photos at all.

@prmnorton1 Thanks
@NineThirty and no the car paint is in good condition it’s just dirty on the hood I had it covered
@NineThirty the lights were also very dirty as well, I clean them up a little bit
@NineThirty yeah, the car is just dirty I had it covered. The paint is in good condition.
@prmnorton1 Thank you for the reply. The picture with the headlights up seems to show the paint on the hood to be pretty beat up, but the other pictures seem to show the paint on the hood to pretty good. Is the paint presentable or does the car need to be painted?

@NineThirty yes all matching all original
@NineThirty I’ve had it for awhile, I have a big collection and I’m selling a lot of my car as you can look under my other listings and see some of the other cars that I’ve sold as well, I’ll get a picture of a headlight up as well.
Bid in the amount of $16,911
@prmnorton1 Is the engine the original engine for the car?
@prmnorton1 How long have you owned the car? Why are you selling it? Can you please post a picture of the headlights in the up position and the linkage and motor for them? Thanks

@glenlucero you can direct message me with any specific questions
@cord4530 I’ll send pics
very interested. contact me direct
@prmnorton1 After much more reading it seems it's also common for 930-width cars to use 16x7 or 16x8 front wheels along with 16x9 rear wheels. If you can't get wheel width, the tire sizes should help give an idea. I'm also wondering if they used wheel spacers, or if they got the additional width through correct wheel width/offset.
@AlexBert round, I’ll go get some more pics today
Hi,No pics with head lights up!!??Square or round?under carriage?
@prmnorton1 Thank you! Any additional information you can pull together would be helpful.
Bid in the amount of $14,100
@cord4530 I’ll
Do my best to get the pics and info to you and check wheel size as well? Ty
There may not be time, but I would really like to see several underside pictures of the car. And especially see more images (wheels off?) of the steel wide body installation. Other images like details of the frunk area (without carpet) are useful in gauging condition and quality of the slant nose work. Also, do you know the wheel size? Many of the 930 width conversions switch to 9" wide front and 11" wide rear wheels, but I can't make out the tire sizes to tell which these are. Any pictures of the original options sticker (either from under the hood or in the owners manual)? If Sfox5252 is able to see the car today I'd love to hear some impressions as well.
@SilverRose one motor
@prmnorton1 - great news, OEM was round, one motor (exactly like OEM) or two, one for each light?
@prmnorton1 - sorry, no, this is what 1979 seats look like, stock, see horizontal pleats in headrest etc. https://www.mohrimports.com/for-sale/porsche/1979-porsche-911-sc-coupe/1216.html
@SilverRose round
@SilverRose as far as I know they are the original seats, it is a late model 79
@SilverRose I will have to check
@prmnorton1 - also, those look like later (80s) non sport seats. Not the "squared" 1970s sport side bolsters. Others concur?
@prmnorton1 - are the headlights square or round?

Bid in the amount of $10,000
@Sfox5252 yes that’s fine, you can direct message me for location, I have a few records. The previous owner owned several mechanic shops and had a large collection, he did make notes of everything that was done and when.
Correct not a turbo
Can the car be inspected on Wednesday Oct 5th? Do you have records of the engine rebuild? Slant nose conversion? Who did both? Any other MX records? Also confirming this is not a turbo?
