Beginning life as a Targa model, this 1979 Porsche 911SC underwent a cabriolet body conversion under prior ownership along with wide Turbo-style fenders, bumpers, and spoilers. It also features 16” Fuchs-style wheels, H4 headlamps, black leather Recaro sport seats, a MOMO shift knob, and a Bluetooth stereo. Purchased by the current owner in 2023 and serviced with new heater boxes, spark plugs, oil return tubes, a new starter, and more, this custom 911SC is now being offered for auction out of California with approximately 58k miles showing on the odometer.
This 911SC was converted to a full open-top cabriolet by removing the Targa bar and glass rear window and installing a folding black convertible soft top. The body was also modified with wide steel Turbo-style fendes, bumpers, and a Tea Tray rear spoiler. The exterior is finished in Guards Red and features a front chin spoiler, integrated fog lights, black rear stone guard decals, black rear bumperettes, a fender-mounted antenna, and 16” Fuchs-style wheels dressed in Hankook Ventus S1 Noble 2 tires. The seller indicates varying paint shades on the rear quarter panels. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The interior has been customized with Recaro sport seats in black leather with red stitching. Other accessories include a leather-wrapped three-spoke steering wheel, power windows, a climate control system, checkered coco floor mats, and a Bluetooth stereo paired with aftermarket Polk speakers. The seller reports the air conditioning system is currently inoperable.
An air-cooled and fuel-injected 3.0-liter flat-six engine delivers up to 172 HP and 189 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels through a 5-speed Type 915 manual transaxle. New shocks and struts were installed in 2019 along with a gearbox overhaul, and the transmission fluid was replaced under current ownership along with the starter, heater boxes, heater control guide cable, accessory belts, decklid struts, sump plate gasket, oil return tubes, and spark plugs.
This sale will include service records, a toolkit, and a clean title.

This is a perfectly running Porsche. Air cooled Porsches are all the craze right now. This one would be a good choice for a 3.6l motor swap, or just a simple paint upgrade. Either way, this car gets looks wherever it goes!

Hello and thank you for your interest. Most of your questions are answered in the descriptions of the vehicle. I will add the cold start video to this ad.The engine runs perfectly; no issues or leaks. Transmission shifts fine; no issues. I am not aware of the previous owners service records regarding the transmission or suspension. The AC does not work. All lights and guages work propoerly. The paint and body work were done prior to my ownership. Please read teh descriptions and view allthe pictures for more detailed information. Thank you!
Any videos for cold start and drive? Does the AC work correctly and blow cold air? How does the engine run, and how does the transmission shift? Any major services or work on the transmission? Any body work or repaint? Any suspension work? Do all lights and instruments work correctly?
