This 1979 Porsche 911SC Coupe had been under the care of a longtime owner in California before being acquired by the seller in August of 2021. It comes finished in Silver Metallic over a black interior and features several tasteful modifications including a MOMO Prototipo steering wheel, upgraded sound system, and Turbo-sized Fuchs wheels. Showing approximately 82k miles on the odometer, this classic 911SC Coupe is now being offered for auction by its owner out of Florida.
This Coupe comes finished in Silver Metallic with bright aluminum window trim, front fog lights, and removable silver Porsche graphics on each side. The Turbo-sized 16” Fuchs wheels come dressed in a set of Michelin Pilot Sport tires from 2021. A new OEM chrome exhaust tip has been fitted and a professional paint correction has been completed along with an application of Cquartz ceramic coating. Clear paint protection film also covers the hood, front fenders, and mirror caps. A few small imperfections are noted on the front bumper and hood, additional images are provided in the gallery.
The black interior has been outfitted with an aftermarket MOMO Prototipo steering wheel along with Carbone Liveries floor, parcel shelf, and luggage compartment mats. The sound system has been upgraded with a Continental Bluetooth head unit and Pioneer rear speakers. Other additions include a Rennline magnetic phone mount, Rennline reinforced door stops, new shift linkage and bushings, rear seat stay straps, a new sunroof seal, door sills, and electric window switches. The passenger window is slow to operate, and the A/C unit has been removed for weight savings.
The air-cooled 3.0L flat-six engine produces up to 180 HP and drives the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual transaxle. The original California-compliant catalytic converter has been removed and all routine service and oil changes have reportedly been carried out as needed.
This sale will include a clean title along with the original A/C unit, catalytic converter, steering wheel, and floor mats.

Such a great car with an even better owner. I have driven along side this SC since possession and it’s well cared for and upgraded. The next driver is in for an unforgettable time. GLWA!
@Mrosilio Oil being used is Redline per my shop's recommendation. Oil consumption is fine and no smoke when idling or on cold start (unless sat for long period of time like any other).
@RLC993 I see it now - Photos were coming up blank before.
Please address the questions in regards to oil consumption and any smoke.
Thanks

@Mrosilio All records have been updated from my time of ownership. Please reference pictures number 133 and 134.

Hey,
I don't see that the service records were ever uploaded. Any chance you can get those up before the auction ends?
Also, what kind of oil have you been running and how has consumption been?
Any smoke on cold start or while idling?
Thanks!

A Playboy Club next door? How old are these pics?
@JayBo Yes per the listing info. All components for AC will be included. I purchased the car from RMC in Miami, FL who purchased it from the original owner in California. I cannot speak to the individual's record keeping as I never met him. Feel free to reach out to RMC with interest.
The car looks good Is the original AC Compressor and parts to hook back up Included? I am curious why there isn’t more records since it’s a long term
Owner? Most people that own these cars take very good if not impeccable care of them and have records for days.

@karp82 There is no surface rust on the car. I don't have exact info on the windshield replacement but it looks possible with the current Pilkington glass (image uploaded).
@Neugie It has not.
Was the windshield ever replaced? Any surface rust?
Has the engine been removed yet to have the fuel lines in the tunnel replaced?
@karp82 Of course. There is no structural or frame damage. The car has not been in any accidents.
Can we get paint readings of all the panels with clear pictures of which panel it is? I can’t tell what was painted and why. Any structural/frame damage?

@Bruce914 Same neighborhood - mine. Washed the car then did the videos to provide the requested "sunny" shots. Clock works very well..........
Bid in the amount of $16,000
According to your clock you went down the same street 90 minutes apart - good to see a working clock. haha. Good looking car.
@Bojacked Answer to you questions: 1. I do not have info on when paint was done. The paint meter values indicate that the rear decklid was repainted and blended with the left fender. 2. The chain tensioner update was completed. 3. No - the cruise control does not work - tested it myself this am although I would never use it.
When was the repaint done? Can you verify that the chain tensioner update was done? Does the cruise still work?
Thank you.

Any receipts from former long term owners or anyone else?
I agree that most of the photos are too dark to be of any use. If a filter was used, it should be removed.
Nice looking car, but lots of questions.
@RLC993
Any tire rubbing with the wider width wheels? Have you gone to larger torsion bars to keep the tires from rubbing?
Thanks,
Jared

Why all the dark photos ? You live in the land of sunshine. Would love to really see what it looks like on a clear day. I didn’t see the PCAR price. What was it set at?
Any paperwork on the engine and trans being matching to the car? Photos?
@Bojacked Sorry, I see that in fact that is included in the sale.
Thank you
Do you still have the removed compressor and associated hardware?
All:
Thank you for the comments and questions. My goal is to have proper driving, startup, and walk around videos up this weekend. We have a storm coming through Miami today/tomorrow so I will keep The Gentleman garaged until the weather clears.
RC
@area901 Thanks for the question. I believe so but let me double check and get back with you.
@racemor The only piece removed was the air compressor. Lines still remain. Thanks for the question.
How much of the air conditioning was removed? Are the lines still in place if someone were wanting to put it back together?
Bid in the amount of $911
@kunklerobb I'll try not to crash it while giving you the goods........
One of the cleanest SC’s I have seen and tasteful upgrades. Good luck to the bidders, this one is a keeper.
Love this SC! Bullet proof engine! Hope it stays local!
@RLC993 Thanks, look forward to seeing this lovely car put through its paces.
@kunklerobb Yessir. I will provide videos this weekend weather permitting.
Are the wheels 7s & 9s?
Hello, now that the car has been re-listed, will there be any videos coming? Cold start, driving, etc.?
Any maintenance records would be appreciated as well - it would be good to see what has been done to the car in the recent past.
Thank you.
All:
New images added of undercarriage, original accessories, and paint meter readings of top, both doors, and rear deck lid (front fenders and hood are PPF).
Video and maintenance records to come.
Thanks,
RC
@Mikeamoss Thanks for the comment. I will be posting all records and additional pics I have this weekend (paint meter, undercarriage, driving video etc.)
With that listing price it would be nice to have an EXTENSIVE service history. Very
nice example. Good luck!
@agoncoupe Thanks for the question. The price was set by the Pcar Team based on the car.'s unique example condition and market. Feel free to place an offer that you feel is appropriate. I'm happy to answer any specific questions and will be adding more pics and videos soon.
Lovely car and nice presentation. I am having trouble with the price, why is it so high? Am I missing something.
