Factory finished in the Paint to Sample color of Copper Metallic over a Cork leather interior, this 1979 Porsche 911 Turbo Coupe was sold new with equipment for California, optional Sport Seats, a limited-slip differential, an electric sunroof, and more. Notably, it wears a commemorative plaque on the dashboard that designates it as one of the final fifty Porsche 930s produced for the United States before the model was discontinued for the next 7 years. The car was added to the current owner’s collection in early 2022 and has since undergone a full restoration of the interior. This numbers-matching Paint to Sample Porsche 930 is now being offered for auction out of California with approximately 48k miles showing on the odometer.
This 930 was custom-ordered in Copper Metallic (L99K), a rarely seen Paint to Sample color originating on the Porsche 914. The car’s Turbo-specific bodywork includes wide fenders with black rear stone guard decals, a front chin spoiler, and a distinctive “Tea Tray” rear spoiler. Other equipment includes headlamp washers, front fog lights, an optional rear window wiper, an electric sunroof, and an electric passenger-side mirror. The car rides on factory 16” Fuchs forged alloy wheels that were mounted with new Pirelli Cinturato P7 tires in January 2023 within the last 150 miles. The seller adds that the car underwent a comprehensive concours-level detail in 2023 including an application of ceramic coating. Additional images are provided in the gallery.
The cabin was restored with new factory-spec Cork leather upholstery and black carpets by Autobahn Interiors of San Diego in 2022 at a cost of over $10k. Accessories include factory-optional Sport Seats, Turbo-logo floor mats, air conditioning, a heater, power windows, a locking glovebox, an original Porsche Blaupunkt radio, and a commemorative final-fifty plaque on the dashboard engraved with the car’s chassis number. The seller adds that all gauges and accessories are fully functional, new speakers and hardware were installed in January 2023, and the factory radio was rebuilt.
This 930 is equipped with its original turbocharged and intercooled 3.3-liter flat-six engine. It sends up to 282 HP to the rear wheels through a numbers-matching 4-speed manual gearbox and an optional limited-slip differential. The seller indicates an oil change was completed in November 2023 along with new transmission fluid, brake fluid, brakes, and shifter bushings.
This sale will include owner’s manuals, a toolkit, an air pump, a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, and a clean title.

@ClassicCollector Can you post the COA?
@henryr Gas Motorsport Porsche Performance - Upland,CA
Gas Motors in Atlanta or Gas Motorsports? Thx
@1958bret I am not sure to be honest. I would have to park it next to another 930 Turbo to really tell if it has been or not. If you look at other 930's online they all have the same tire fitment and overall look the same height.
Do you know if it is the factory ride height or lowered?

@ooeclipse Yes I have the Porsche Certificate of Authenticity.
When we acquired the car it had regular seats in it and we re-installed the Factory Recaro Sport Seats.
Original Color is Cork Leather, no knowledge of it ever being black.
Do you have a certificate of authenticity?
I found previous sales of this car with non sport seats in it. Were they changed by current ownership?
Was the original interior a black interior?

@911Geezer Happy to answer your questions!
The Car has had a respray. We do not have records that trace back to when or where and don't believe the previous owner did either.
Since Ownership we have had All the Fluids changed. The shift bushings have been replaced. New Pads, Rotors and Brake Fluid. CV Boots are new and Installed New Tires with less than 150 Miles on them.
The car has no signs of oil seepage. If you view the underbody photos of the motor, The car has been parked in this spot for weeks at a time and no oil seems to bee leaking on the ground.
Gas Motorsport completed a leak down test for us in April of 2022. The Results: (Leak down : 1 2%, 2-3%, 3 5%, 4 5%, 5 5%, 6 5%
I will removed the Frunk carpet and upload some photos for everyone.

Beautiful 930 turbo and wonderful work on the interior. A few questions for you.
1. Is this original paint, or is it a re-spray? Do you have paint meter readings you would be willing to share?
2. Can you provide a summary of any work you have done to the drivetrain since acquiring the car?
3. Any signs of oil seepage anywhere?
4. Do you have a recent compression and leak down test you would be willing to share?
5. Would you be willing to post some photos of the frunk with carpets removed?
Sorry about all the questions. Good luck with the auction you have a wonderful example of a 930 Turbo.
Absolutely beautiful! Original paint?
