This 1979 Porsche 911 Turbo Coupe was originally delivered to Precision Imports of Tulsa, Oklahoma, finished in the rare and eccentric combination of Talbot Yellow over a Light Red leather interior. Records show the car to have spent time in California during the late 1980s through the 1990s before being imported to Canada in 2005 at which time a significant amount of service was completed. Having been maintained as part of a high-end private collection, this incredibly unique Porsche 930 is now being offered for auction with just over 26k miles showing on the odometer.
This Turbo is finished in Talbot Yellow (106), a rarely seen factory color offered during the late 1970s. The 930’s bodywork is defined by wide fenders with black stone guard decals and an iconic Tea Tray rear spoiler. Other equipment includes a rear window wiper, an optional electric sunroof, headlamp washers, front fog lights, a front chin spoiler, and 16” Fuchs wheels with Bridgestone Potenza S-02 tires. Additional images are provided in the gallery along with paint meter readings.
The cabin features Light Red leather covering the seats, center console, and door panels with a contrasting black leather dashboard and carpeting. An upgraded Porsche Classic radio has been installed and the car came factory equipped with power windows, air-conditioning, automatic heat control, an integrated boost pressure gauge, a rear window defogger, and a four-speaker sound system.
A turbocharged and intercooled 3.3-liter flat-six engine routes as much as 265 HP and 291 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels through a 4-speed manual gearbox and an optional limited-slip differential. Records show a major service completed in 2005 at just over 25k miles including new Bilstein front shocks, CV joints and boots, a new clutch assembly, main seal, thermostat O-ring, oil pressure switch, and steering column bushing. Another invoice shows new rear brake rotors and fluid purchased in 2015.
This sale will include the original window sticker, a Porsche Production Specifications Certificate, maintenance records, and a clean title.

All of that for very small finance. You will receive Your car doorstep in No Time. TurnKey. Not my First BBQ. Have a very pleasant day.
Hi Seller- what is the process to get this car to Houston, will you handle all the paper work shipping end to end for me?
@i-like-german-cars Car was delivered with a 85 mph cluster from Zuffenhausen according to Experts here. ( New to Us ) it was a normal practice at the time to switch to a 150 mph before delivery, since it makes no sense having a cluster at 85 when the car can 2x that.
Although I don’t have any evidence. You can trust that familiar scenario took place here. Car looks and feel like a 26000 miles car. No if. No and. No but. Period. Please.

In reviewing the provided service records, the documents do not verify the stated vehicle mileage of 26,014. Do you have a source to validate the stated mileage?
@AlexBert thank you!
@dchesrown and to the benefits to All:
Hello! I was around the Stunning Gem this PM. Too Gorgeous. Little inner voice said: : It’s mine. Lol!
Seriously: Car was put on the lift; so i could take a snapshot of the Digits your are looking for. (See pictures at the end of the Gallery). @Jsmilliken No. My family owned several TV stations in Oklahoma and Arkansas. My Dad bought his first Porsche in '72 - a 911 S. He would buy a new Porsche every year or two as his "company car". He rarely kept them long as he was always upgrading, but he kept this one much longer than usual as it was the last year before Porsche stopped importing the 930. Plus he really liked it. He had a '77 930 (Minverva Blue with blue interior) prior to this car, and he ordered this one when the intercooled 3.3L was offered. Not to mention better brakes.
breathtaking colors, GLWA
Hope it meets reserve!
@AlexBert Thanks, Alex. Can you please upload pictures of all those service records to the auction listing or can you email them to me?
@tvryan3 Thanks for that contact. As I said before, Service records comes his the car. From day 1. Window Sticker. Titles. Service records. Nice Built Up of Services in conjonction of Odo reports. ( new cluster was probably adjusted to what the original one was at the time. ( Possible ).
We had the great privilege to meet Jimmy, during this Forum, Son Of Owner #1, and second Owner John. Top class Custodians, who took care of the car, like White on Rice. It shows. Happy they Are their 930 is stille around, and has been preserved like no other.
Car came to Canada in 2005. Major service done at the time, with mileage reported at 25000 miles.
It will be a fun and Easy task for the Winner of this lot to complete the Puzzle, if needed. Second Owner, StandUp Guy John, knows Jimmy. And will be interested helping out, with Bonhomie and collaboration.
Such a cool story. I bet a story that can Make a BlockBuster by Hollywood, with the good
Producer.
Hope Winner of this Lot will drive it to the ground. Outrunning Bill, who is in a Journey To cross the 1 million miles.
@seller given the odometer was swapped and the true mileage is unknown based on that, do you have a chain of service or other documentation that can show that the true mileage is indeed ~26k? that would be very helpful and give confidence to us bidders to get the value i am sure you are seeking. thank you
GoodMorning Everyone!
2 days on the clock. You are more than welcome to come and see the car < LIVE > and/or have someone You know residing the Area ( 5 minutes from Montreal Airport ) to come and check and Report. Retrieving those stamped numbers this Afternoon.
Life is short. YOLO. You Only Live Once. No other car, imho, Matches the enthusiasm and the pleasure generated by what the 930 has to offer. Don’t be stopped. Get Your inspiration by the proper people.
Great role model in the community is Bill, 930 original owner of a 930: not afraid to put on miles on his own: in the process to Reach 1 million. Happy as Ever!
Here is a cool footage: worth the 1-2 minutes::::

Has as past owner of a 79 turbo 930 with 10k DOCUMENTED miles .
i am Glad every thing is clear to the new buyer i am thinking about jumping in . Color is great but so is knowing the true story and true miles.Lets keep asking questions and hopefully things will begin to get clearer for every one . Good luck to all the bidders Thank you
Per the info in this list bigchungus is correct that this chassis number was delivered with an 85 mph speedometer
https://rennlist.com/forums/911-turbo-930-forum/883125-when-was-the-85mph-speedo-installed.html
additionally, apparently the back of the speedometer is date stamped and can be compared to the chassis to cross check. but seems it was replaced
@bigchungus TYVM for Your message. Odo reads 26014 miles. Given. If Your encyclopedic knowledge on the history of the 930 shows it was delivered with a 85 mph cluster: Possible. Let’s give good faith to the owner who performed the swap, to have trimmed the replacement new cluster Accordingly. What else to say?! Hmmm! Owner #1 ( Jimmy’s Dad ) is Super stoked The car He knew / ordered, is still going Super Strong, Ready to please Next Custodian. We have the confirmation with Jimmy, that first Owner wasn’t Ronald McDonald lol!
Montana state will Accommodate if your state does some nitpicking.
There is Always a Way, if / When You are committed.
Engine and Transmission ## tomorrow.
All the Best To All!
Holy Shit!!! I was just scrolling through Facebook and saw a post on this car. This is my Dad’s old car! He ordered it new from Precision Imports. I helped him pick the colors as he got a new Porsche as a “company car” every year. Haven’t seen it in decades but SO glad to see it has had a good life. This really brings back memories. GLWS!!!!
@AlexBert This color combo is killer. The car presents very well. However, richardrobert brings up a valid point and after doing some investigating on the speedo, If someone, including me, is going to offer top dollar on this car, then in my opinion, the miles should be listed as TMU. No one knows when the speedo was changed and apparently there is no record of it and if there was it would help in the confidence of the bidder.
Picture 121 shows a build date of 10/79 for chassis 00939. U.S. 930’s built from September to December 1979 were equipped with 85 mph speedometers (chassis # 00817 to 01200)
As far as the exhaust this car would not pass CA regs which I believe a car has to be 1976 or older to be exempt in CA (not 100% sure on this)? There appear to be no cats on this car.
Not busting any chops here, but a prospective buyer deserves as much transparency as possible. If seller doesn't know, they don't know. A written statement by the former owner referenced earlier declaring what mileage was on the car and when they replaced the speedo an/or exhaust would help immensely!
Good luck with the sale!
@richardrobert Cluster is a regular/ standard 150 mph. Original miles. Extensive Service Records tell a story bringing this Baby to current mileage. No Drama. Just Wow! No parts comes with the cars. It’s possible the exhaust is a 1986+ specimen.
I had a conversation with Owner between 1984 and 1989. Also Owner of Prestige Imports back then. His reference will comes with the car. More than happy to talk about his beloved 930 he is. THIS 1
@dchesrown I asked Dealership to retrieve it.
Won’t be long. Later today / Max Tomorrow.

Any progress on the Transmission and engine # photos?
McTurbo... that is appropriate. I have a couple of questions:
1. That car should have a 85mph speedo, it has been changed to a 150mph. Do you have the original? Do you know when it was changed?
2. When was the exhaust changed? The exhaust currently on the vehicle is 1986+. Do you have the original?

I will Assist with Total Mastery. Not my First BBQ.
PS: The reason I ask for the numbers is you don't have a COA. What is show in the basic product specification sheet that does not list out the engine or transmission number.
Thank you for the paint meter readings. How about the transmission number on the bottom of the transmission. It is located near the large drain plug, going side to side not for and aft. Also the engine number. If you need help locating it on the right side of the engine as viewed from the back.
Hi love the Color

Regarding the color combo; it just works... I really kind of like it. Eccentric is 100% accurate. Maybe it's for the guy who really likes ketchup & mustard?
Wow, a window sticker from 1979! That’s almost as rare as the color combo, this is cool.
