Finished in Guards Red over a black leather interior, this 1979 Porsche 911SC Targa was acquired by the current owner in May 2021 and has since undergone a major engine-out service and top-end rebuild. Accompanied by a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity and maintenance records dating back nearly 20 years, this Targa is now being offered for auction by its seller out of California with approximately 45k miles showing on the odometer.
This 911SC came factory-finished in Guards Red and is said to have been completely repainted in 2016. European-spec taillights have been installed and the original lenses are said to accompany the sale. The removable black Targa top was reupholstered under prior ownership. Factory equipment includes white rectangular fog lights, heated/tinted outside mirrors, painted headlight trim, and 16” Fuchs light alloy wheels that are currently dressed in Bridgestone Potenza Sport tires. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The cabin is appointed with optional black leather upholstery and includes a leather safety steering wheel, electric windows, air-conditioning, a center console, and a Porsche CR stereo paired with two additional loudspeakers on the rear shelf. The cabin is described to be in very good original condition with only minor lifting noted on the dashboard. All gauges and accessories are said to remain fully functional.
An air-cooled 3.0-liter flat-six engine sends as much as 180 HP and 175 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels by way of a 5-speed manual transmission. Optional Bilstein struts were equipped from the factory and the engine was removed for major service in 2021 including a top-end rebuild, new belts, a new engine insulation pad, and A/C recharge as well as new brakes and two new shock absorbers. A corresponding invoice from Gran Turismo of Los Angeles totals over $21k and additional service records are said to be available dating back to 2003.
This sale will include the original owner’s manuals, an air pump, a toolkit, service records, and a clean title.

Inspection before purchase has been granted.

Is the car being sold through a dealership ? Where is it right now?
I am curious if you have any photos around the back glass? I would like to see if this was taped for painting or was everything removed? thank you.

You are so welcome.
@daytona49 thank you for the message that sounds fair.
Hello everyone,
I apologize for no driving video or photos of the undercarriage. They cannot be retrieved and I cannot get the car on a lift till tomorrow. Car is at another garage.
I feel feel very confident that there's no rust or structural integrity issues whatsoever. Therefore I just spoke with PCAMARKET and we have agreed that if there is a winning bidder, this deal will be contingent on an inspection by the buyer before any funds are exchanged. So bid with confidence because my car is gorgeous and correct.
Good Luck everyone!

Hi everyone,
The device with the under-carriage photos is not being helpful at the moment and I'm working on that...So typical.
There was a video done by PCARMARKET when I brought it over for photos and inspection. I just asked them to post it.
Thanks.
Good afternoon, do you have any videos of the car starting or being driven? Thanks
Are there any underneath photos available?

Hi everyone,
Here's a bit more history on the car. Before I bought it out of a collection in Colorado. I had a dear friend of mine who is an expert and a major Porsche collector in that area inspect the SC. It passed with flying colors. When the car was delivered to me unfortunately soon after it developed an exhaust leak. Tried to tighten the studs knowing the consequences and they did snap. What do you expect after being 44 years old. Hence the top end rebuild which really wasn't necessary. The new clutch previously installed was in excellent condition with minimal wear. Transmission, pistons, everything were great. But mechanic was very busy and I was in no rush to get it back due to my schedule so it took a bit.
I'm selling this one and three more cars in my possession. No time anymore to enjoy these beautiful machines due to work.
Whomever ends up with this example, is getting an excellent, correct, beautiful 911SC Targa with 45,000 miles.
Everything points to true mileage.
Please look at the detailed service records provided from Gran Turismo of Los Angeles. Giovanni looks after all my other Porsches and exotics as well.
Did much more than the top end. New shocks, All Brakes, Rotors, front struts etc. Check it out and have a great day or evening.
Thank you all.
Thanks for your interest.
