Available for auction is this 1979 MG MGB finished in British Racing Green over a tan vinyl interior. Introduced for the 1962 model year to replace the MGA, the MGB utilized a monocoque chassis, reducing weight and manufacturing costs while adding to the vehicle's overall strength. This 1979 example was acquired by the seller approximately four years ago from a long-term owner and is reported to have been treated to regular maintenance while always being garage-kept. Previously listed on PCARMARKET, this MGB is now being offered for auction once again by its seller out of Massachusetts showing approximately 36k miles.
Midway through 1974, all U.S market MGBs came equipped with black safety bumpers and taller springs to meet DOT regulations. Originally finished in brown, this example was refinished in British Racing Green under previous ownership and features a tan convertible soft top. The seller reports the convertible top has a small crack on the left plastic window panel, while the finish shows a few scratches and a small area of rust on the right rear quarter panel. The 14″ Rostyle wheels are dressed in a set of Lexington tires.
The cabin is trimmed in tan vinyl with a black dashboard, carpeting, and center console. An upgraded wood-rimmed steering wheel has been installed along with an aftermarket stereo. A tear is depicted at the base of the driver’s seat and the seller adds that all gauges and lights function properly.
Power comes from a B-Series 1.8-liter inline 4-cylinder engine driving the rear wheels by way of a 4-speed manual transmission. This MGB is said to have been regularly maintained under the current ownership, receiving routine oil changes every spring and fall. In the last 4 years, the clutch was rebuilt and a new battery was installed along with new belts. Most recently, the fuel system and carburetors were flushed and cleaned.
This sale will include a clean title.

Bid in the amount of $1,000
@msa615 The title is in my wife’s name Elizabeth Rourke-Berardi and is a clean Mass title
The original color is not on the title but that was brown.
We have owned the car since 2017 and replaced clutch, flushed brakes and cleaned tank and fuel system and rebuilt the carburetor.
It’s a very reliable car much better than its reputation
The car might need a new battery otherwise in good working condition.
Is the title a Mass title in your name Any vehicle history report What color is listed on the title Any currently known issues
Thanks
