The Mercedes-Benz 450SL, a part of the R107 series, is well-regarded for its blend of performance, comfort, and timeless design. Powered by a 4.5-liter V8 engine paired with a 3-speed automatic transmission, this 1979 example is finished in Astral Silver over a Blue MB Tex interior. It features a body-color removable hardtop, fog lights, 14″ Bundt alloy wheels, automatic climate control, electric windows, central locking, and a Becker AM/FM/cassette stereo. Showing under 80k kilometers or approximately 50k miles on the odometer, this R107 450SL is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Canada.
The 450SL boasts a classic and elegant design, highlighted by its long hood, short rear deck, low-slung profile, and sealed-beam headlights within rectangular frames. This example is finished in Astral Silver and features a body-color removable hardtop, chrome-accented bumpers with black overriders, fog lights, and a power antenna. It rides on silver-finished 14” Bundt alloy wheels wrapped in older Bridgestone tires. The seller reports minor scratches near the rear hardtop pin and some paint fading on the wheels. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The interior features two bucket seats upholstered in Blue MB Tex and is equipped with automatic climate control, electric windows, a central locking system, and a Becker Mexico AM/FM/cassette stereo. The seller notes that the climate control is inoperative and only blows cold air, and suspects it is due to a malfunctioning climate control servo. All other gauges and electronics are in proper working order.
Power comes from a 4.5-liter V8 engine equipped with Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection, delivering a factory-rated 180 HP and 220 lb.-ft of torque to rear wheels through a 3-speed automatic transmission. It is equipped with independent suspension on all four corners with coil springs and anti-roll bars, and stopping power is facilitated by four-wheel disc brakes. The seller notes that the vehicle recently underwent oil, brake, and suspension servicing, as well as the replacement of shift bushings, with a total cost of approximately $5,000 in preparation for the sale.
This sale will include the owner’s manuals, a spare tire, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “The car was undercoated when new and is documented with the invoice.”

Let me know if there are any last minute questions. This is one of best 107’s that I’ve seen with a corrosion and accident free bodyshell and mint interior and low mileage. Not many like this for reasonable money left. We want it sold!
Thanks for the bids so far. I've added a narrated driving video here...
