The R107 SL-Class replaced the W113, featuring a large 4.5-liter V8 and revised styling cues with a more streamlined yet elegant appearance. Factory-specified with a 3-speed automatic transmission, a Midnight Blue finish, and a tan leather interior, this example also offers a body-color removable hardtop, a black soft top, a Becker AM/FM/cassette stereo, 14″ Bundt alloy wheels, automatic climate control, and more. Purchased by its second owner in 1995 and recently acquired by the selling dealer, this 450SL is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Oregon.
This 450SL was factory-optioned in Midnight Blue with a body-color removable hardtop and a retractable black soft top. Exterior details include factory 14″ Bundt alloy wheels, fog lights, a power antenna, chrome-accented side trimming, and chrome bumper and mirror covers. The seller notes some minor paint imperfections, the hood and trunk have been refinished, and a small tear is present on the passenger side of the soft top. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The interior is upholstered with tan leather seats and has matching door panels, carpeting, and wood trim. Interior details include a Becker AM/FM/cassette stereo, four-spoke steering wheel, front folding armrest, central locking, electric windows, and automatic climate control. All gauges, electronics, and accessories are reported to be working properly.
The 450SL is powered by a Bosh K-Jetronic mechanically fuel-injected 4.5-liter V8 that produces up to 180 HP and 220 lb.-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 3-speed automatic transmission, and the car is stopped by power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes. The seller states there are currently no outstanding maintenance items, and some service records will accompany the sale.
This sale will include a clean title, owner’s manuals, and some documentation.
The seller would like you to know: "This is a beautiful 1979 Mercedes 450 SL. This car had the same owner since 1995. This is a great chance to own a great example of a 450SL."

Was the car ever flooded or smoked in? Also description says Bundt wheels but the only Bundt wheel is the spare. The others seems to be something else with hub-caps? And please clear up the discrepancy with the odometer. The pictures (104) show 69k but the description says 77k as does the driving video.
