Produced from 1970-1979, the fifth-generation Lincoln Continental was offered in 3 different body styles. This final model year Town Car example is a 4-door pillared hardtop, featuring a 400ci V8 engine. It is finished in Wedge Wood Blue over White padded leather seats and equipment includes power locks, windows, mirrors, air conditioning, reading lights, and more. This 1979 Continental Town Car is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Massachusetts.
Finished in Wedge Wood Blue, this Town Car features a matching vinyl roof and iconic rear-quarter oval opera windows. Equipment includes pop-up headlights, a chrome grille, bumpers, mirrors, trim, and turbine-style wheels. The seller reports a few small imperfections on the chrome trim. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The cabin is upholstered in White padded leather power-adjustable seats. The Town Car received a Mercury-sourced dashboard for the 1979 model year that included additional wood trim. Equipment includes power locks, windows, a radio, and air conditioning. Additional amenities include reading and dome lights. The seller reports some discoloration of the plastic surround and states that all gauges, electronics, and accessories work as intended, with no warning lights present.
Powered by a 400ci 335-series V8 engine based on the 351 Cleveland with a half-inch longer stroke, the Town Car sends power to its rear wheels by way of a 3-speed Ford C6 automatic transmission. The seller reports to have fitted five new tires, as well as a new battery, and fluid changes.
This sale will include a toolkit, a spare tire, some documentation, a jack, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “This is a rare original paint low mileage loaded town car in exceptional condition withno bubbles or rust at all everything works, can be driven anywhere, and was told it has all options available at the time.”

@phurlston thank you for the question my friend who is a big collector close to 100 cars kept it in one of his buildings since 2012 he started it and drove it once in a while he purchased it from an elderly gentleman in his 80s from Connecticut as well who told him he owned the car for almost 30 years and cherished it taking it for cruises and some shows so the car has a long term CT history and was definitely a garage queen the car is def all original body and paint with no accident damage . The muffler and exhaust appear to be relatively new I put in a new battery and oil change and a/c recharge and cleaned detailed and topped off all fluids added sea foam as well also has 5 newer tires it drives excellent no mechanical issues or leaks let me know if you have any other questions or want to see the car thank you
What a special offering! Seller, tell us more about the history of this well preserved Town Car. How was it owned, what repairs have been done, any accident history? Was it always in Mass? If so, how did it survive the rust? I owned the Mercury version of this car and brought it from Texas to Mass and in one season it started rusting, and by the second one, I had holes in the floorboards!
Beautiful car. Look at the size of that trunk! The winning bidder will be able to sublet that trunk to a family of three.
