Chevrolet engineers applied their racing experience from the first-generation model to improve the steering, braking, and balance of the second-generation Camaro. Powered by a 305ci V8 mated to a 3-speed automatic transmission, this 1979 example is finished in Beige over Camel vinyl upholstery. After nearly thirty years in California, the current owner acquired it in 2000. This American pony car is now being offered for auction by the selling dealer out of California, accompanied by a records binder, a car show award, and a Vintage Chevrolet Club of America certificate.

This Camaro is finished in Beige with brown pinstriping, bodyside moldings, and chrome trim. It rides on 14” Rally wheels with body-color centers, polished trim rings, and BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires accented by white lettering. Other details include a vented hood, rear window louvers, and dual exhaust outlets. The seller notes minor paint imperfections, including a scratch on the passenger’s side rear quarter panel. Additional images are provided in the gallery.

The cabin is appointed with Camel vinyl upholstery, which spans the seats and door panels. The dashboard, steering wheel, center console, headliner, and carpets and coordinated to match. Other equipment includes an adjustable driver’s seatback, a Delco AM/FM head unit, air conditioning, roll-up windows, and a locking glovebox. All gauges, electronics, and accessories are confirmed to be in proper working order. The seller notes minor scratches and states a fire extinguisher will accompany the sale.

Beneath the hood lies a 305ci V8 engine, sending as much as 130 HP to the rear wheels through a 3-speed automatic transmission. Performance features include power steering, an independent front suspension with coil springs, a rear semi-elliptic leaf spring suspension, and braking with front disc brakes and rear drum brakes. The seller reports a transmission leak, an oil pan gasket leak, and a minor power steering leak.

This sale will include a clean title, a records binder, a car show award, a Vintage Chevrolet Club of America certificate, and a fire extinguisher.

The seller would like you to know: “This Camaro features a unique color combination, offers a fun driving experience, and takes you back to the 70s.”

Hi everyone! G here with Heritage Gruppe, we're proud to present this super clean 79 Camaro here on Pcarmarket!

This Camaro is an all original California car which comes with the original blue plates as well as awards and maintenance records. It's been very well loved by the current owner and more of a sentimental purchase for him as his dad used to have the same spec back in the days and he's looking for someone that truly appreciates this car to take it over.

A few things to note on the car: It does leak transmission fluid and it looks like it's coming from the oil pan gasket, as well as a little bit of power steering fluid. The front bumper has been repainted, otherwise the rest of the paint is all original, and there are a few minor scratches and dings around the car. The interior is in great shape with the exception of tears in the driver seat and warping of the plastic on the center console.

Otherwise the car drives VERY smoothly and with some very minor maintenance will be back to 100%! It's a fun car to cruise in and has enough power to get up and go, and handles and stops pretty well.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us or leave a comment below and we'll get back to you as soon as possible!

    Happy bidding!
