Finished in Copper Brown Metallic over a dark brown leather interior, this 1978 Porsche 930 Turbo was modified with extensive performance upgrades beginning in 1989 before participating in IMSA SCCA class racing. It showcases an Andial-built 3.8-liter flat-six engine with twin water-cooled turbochargers, a custom aluminum intercooler, HKS external wastegates, a 964 crankcase, ported/polished cylinder heads, GT2 cams, twin-plug ignition, Bosch EFI, Andial exhaust manifolds, and an RSR Kevlar fan shroud. The rear wheels are driven through a G50 5-speed manual transaxle with 964 Turbo IMSA-spec internals, a straight-cut 5th gear, a limited-slip differential, a Ruf CTR clutch kit, and a lightweight Cup flywheel. The car also features Bilstein rear coilovers, 23mm front torsion bars, 934-style sway bars, a fully welded roll cage, Andial aluminum brake ducts, 17” HRE forged wheels, RS-style door panels, an Andial boost gauge, a Porsche Motorsport shifter, and more. Showing approximately 36k miles on the odometer, this Andial twin-turbo 3.8L Porsche 930 is now being offered for auction once again on PCARMARKET out of Florida.

This 930 is finished in Copper Brown Metallic and features Turbo-specific bodywork with wide fenders, a front chin spoiler, and a tea tray rear spoiler. The front valence has been modified with cutouts to provide airflow to the oil coolers, and the sunroof mechanism has also been gutted for weight savings. Equipment includes headlamp washers, black rear fender stone guards, a fender-mounted antenna, dual exhaust outlets, and 17” HRE forged three-piece wheels. The Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires show 2015 and 2016 production date codes and approximately 7/32” of tread depth.  The seller notes some areas of the car were previously refinished, detailed images are provided in the gallery.

The cabin features dark brown leather Sport Seats with a matching dashboard, RS-style door panels, and contrasting black carpets. The rear seats and radio have been removed, and a fully welded roll cage has been integrated into the chassis. Accessories include power windows, a black leather three-spoke 934 steering wheel, a Porsche Motorsport shifter, an EGT monitor and controller, an HKS turbo controller, an air/fuel ratio gauge, and an Andial boost gauge. This example is not equipped with air conditioning.

The Andial-built 3.8-liter flat-six engine uses a Porsche 964 long crankcase and features twin Mitsubishi TD05H water-cooled turbochargers, HKS external wastegates, an HKS blow-off valve, and a custom Holcombe aluminum intercooler. The engine also includes GT2-spec cams, ported/polished cylinder heads, Dilavar head studs, Raceware connecting rod hardware, Andial exhaust manifolds, an RSR-style Kevlar fan shroud, and Bosch EFI with a PMS piggyback controller. Cooling is handled by dual Andial oil coolers with electric fans and a Bosch recirculating water pump with an aluminum air-to-water radiator. The engine was dyno-tested with an output of up to 580 HP and 22psi of boost. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a G50/50/2 5-speed manual gearbox with 964 Turbo IMSA-spec internals, a straight-cut 5thgear, a 40% limited-slip differential, and Ruf CTR racing clutch kit with a lightweight C2 Cup flywheel. The front suspension uses 23mm torsion bars with drilled arms, and the boxed rear suspension features Bilstein coilovers with Eibach main and helper springs. The suspension also uses monoball bushings and 934-style sway bars at the front and rear. The standard 930 disc brakes have been upgraded with larger fins and Andial aluminum cooling ducts. The seller notes some fluid seeps from the transaxle case. An extensive collection of records and documentation is provided in the gallery.

This sale will include service records, build documents, and a clean title.

The seller would like you to know: “Thank you for visiting my auction. I have owned this car for the last 4 years and store it in a climate-controlled garage. All maintenance is up to date. It is a very interesting car with crazy mods done to it. The sum of all mods adds up over $93k of 1989 money when they started the build. Hope you enjoy this auction and happy bidding!”

    I own quite a few these. Just curious; why didn't it sell the last time?

    @airpower thank you!

    When you say, “ no expense spared,” Andial comes to mind. Directly representing Porsche Motorsports during this time they are the absolute gold standard… plus anything Holcomb makes is bulletproof… and expensive. Having said that; this car is totally modified from anything even resembling stock …. Buyers beware : it’s a hell of a car but may be a bit temperamental ( to say the least.). Beautiful example

    I don’t know much about an Andial build, however, there’s a lot going on everywhere in this pretty incredible Porsche 930 Turbo
    my 1987 Porsche 930 had a few engine upgrades, including an improved after market intercooler and that Car was a handful, and I certainly wish I still had it
    This handsome monster with 500+ horsepower, oh my gosh, what a thrill to drive this I bet
    Unfortunately, well beyond my budget these days, but I’m sure there are plenty out there that have the capabilities and interest in owning this clean Porsche build
    Good luck all

    @Tievommm Thanks. I owned it since 2020. “There are no old Porsches, only new owners” lol

    @Galevin Yes to everything you asked. No problem.

  • Tievommm (registered bidder) 3 days, 10 hoursago

    Why are you selling a monster machine after only a few years of ownership
    Beautiful car

    @Maxo964, I live locally, currently own a 930 and interested in this but have no mechanical ability. I understand you are a pretty good mechanic. Are you available to service the car in the future? If not, any local shops know this car or are qualified to work on this car? I have no intention on racing but need a car that I can count on taking me home after a short trip. I can’t tolerate frequent breakdowns and would like to service the car so it acts responsibly. Is that feasible?
