Finished in Copper Brown Metallic over a dark brown leather interior, this 1978 Porsche 930 Turbo was modified with extensive performance upgrades beginning in 1989 before participating in IMSA SCCA class racing. It showcases an Andial-built 3.8-liter flat-six engine with twin water-cooled turbochargers, a custom aluminum intercooler, HKS external wastegates, a 964 crankcase, ported/polished cylinder heads, GT2 cams, twin-plug ignition, Bosch EFI, Andial exhaust manifolds, and an RSR Kevlar fan shroud. The rear wheels are driven through a G50 5-speed manual transaxle with 964 Turbo IMSA-spec internals, a straight-cut 5th gear, a limited-slip differential, a Ruf CTR clutch kit, and a lightweight Cup flywheel. The car also features Bilstein rear coilovers, 23mm front torsion bars, 934-style sway bars, a fully welded roll cage, Andial aluminum brake ducts, 17” HRE forged wheels, RS-style door panels, an Andial boost gauge, a Porsche Motorsport shifter, and more. Showing approximately 36k miles on the odometer, this Andial twin-turbo 3.8L Porsche 930 is now being offered for auction out of Florida.
This 930 is finished in Copper Brown Metallic and features Turbo-specific bodywork with wide fenders, a front chin spoiler, and a tea tray rear spoiler. The front valence has been modified with cutouts to provide airflow to the oil coolers, and the sunroof mechanism has also been gutted for weight savings. Equipment includes headlamp washers, black rear fender stone guards, a fender-mounted antenna, dual exhaust outlets, and 17” HRE forged three-piece wheels. The Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires show 2015 and 2016 production date codes and approximately 7/32” of tread depth. The seller notes some areas of the car were previously refinished, detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The cabin features dark brown leather Sport Seats with a matching dashboard, RS-style door panels, and contrasting black carpets. The rear seats and radio have been removed, and a fully welded roll cage has been integrated into the chassis. Accessories include power windows, a black leather three-spoke 934 steering wheel, a Porsche Motorsport shifter, an EGT monitor and controller, an HKS turbo controller, an air/fuel ratio gauge, and an Andial boost gauge.
The Andial-built 3.8-liter flat-six engine uses a Porsche 964 long crankcase and features twin Mitsubishi TD05H water-cooled turbochargers, HKS external wastegates, an HKS blow-off valve, and a custom Holcombe aluminum intercooler. The engine also includes GT2-spec cams, ported/polished cylinder heads, Dilavar head studs, Raceware connecting rod hardware, Andial exhaust manifolds, an RSR-style Kevlar fan shroud, and Bosch EFI with a PMS piggyback controller. Cooling is handled by dual Andial oil coolers with electric fans and a Bosch recirculating water pump with an aluminum air-to-water radiator. The engine was dyno-tested with an output of up to 580 HP and 22psi of boost. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a G50/50/2 5-speed manual gearbox with 964 Turbo IMSA-spec internals, a straight-cut 5th gear, a 40% limited-slip differential, and Ruf CTR racing clutch kit with a lightweight C2 Cup flywheel. The front suspension uses 23mm torsion bars with drilled arms, and the boxed rear suspension features Bilstein coilovers with Eibach main and helper springs. The suspension also uses monoball bushings and 934-style sway bars at the front and rear. The standard 930 disc brakes have been upgraded with larger fins and Andial aluminum cooling ducts. The seller notes some fluid seeps from the transaxle case. An extensive collection of records and documentation is provided in the gallery.
This sale will include service records, build documents, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “Thank you for visiting my auction. I have owned this car for the last 4 years and store it in a climate-controlled garage. All maintenance is up to date. It is a very interesting car with crazy mods done to it. The sum of all mods adds up over $93k of 1989 money when they started the build. Hope you enjoy this auction and happy bidding!”

I can’t get over the cars nickname. I bet it’s a blast to drive!! GLWTA
Echoing many of the comments made by those who have seen this car in person—this 930 is the real deal. Highly developed in period and well-built with unobtainium parts, unlikely to be replicated in today’s era.
I’ve been familiar with this car since the seller first acquired it. I cannot imagine a better custodian for the next owner. Sad to see it leave, but for any prospective buyer: bid with confidence.
@MooseLLC Car is currently set at 10 psi of boost producing 396whp for reliability and track use. It’s plenty power if we combined it with a lightweight car. The 580s were set to check the engine and the build capabilities.
Where is the Dyno sheet for 580 hp on 23 lbs of boost?
Dyno sheet shows maximum horsepower as 397.
Is the car detuned currently? In the driving video, was the driver short shifting? It appears the driver shifts from 2nd to 3rd at one bar of boost. What is the maximum boost on the current tune? Thanks so much.
Will the car need to be retuned for 91 octane? Thx!!

For those who truly appreciate a special time in Porsche history… ANDIAL was founded in 1975 by three German entrepreneurs in California – Arnold Wagner, Dieter Inzenhofer, Alwin Springer and was synonymous throughout Porsche racing in the US in the 1970s and 1980s. In 2013 PMNA purchased the brand name to revive ANDIAL with current and future projects. {porsche.com}
This 911 is one of the special few that exist and has a truly special caretaker. I know the seller, he has a truly unique and rare skill set as an extremely knowledgeable and professional Porsche technician. I have placed my trust and many of my unique classic Porsches under his care. The results under his care are truly outstanding and unmatched in my 40 plus years of various Porsches owned. Bid with confidence and reap your rewards. And may the keyboard naysayers move onward.
@MooseLLC It all depends on what your expectations are. The car runs perfectly as is, I have done two trips over 500 miles, attended Porsche weekend events, etc. The car has been used regularly. If you want Singer level quality with new, the latest and greatest parts for this type of cars... then this is not the car. This car was built for one purpose, to be a race car that can be used on the street. Now on the other hand this car has period correct race parts from (or as close to) the best era of Porsche racing. Like I said, you can modernize it, sure! You can give it a new paint job, put in a Motec ECU, install MCS coilovers, electric A/C etc etc... but like I said in the description, having a car built with Andial heritage and all these retro racing parts makes it pretty cool too.
Hi, what “freshening up” would you recommend?
Nice car!
@MooseLLC as stated on the description, the G50-50/2 transaxle is sweating a bit of transmission fluid - pls see pictures- from the transmission case halves . Nothing serious at the moment. It could be addressed when the next clutch kit is needed.
@askewrsr hit the nail on the head. Max is very reserved about tooting his own horn, but everyone in the South Florida Porsche community likely knows that he’s one of the finest technicians available and often has a waiting list. You can literally eat off the floor of his immaculate shop, and he has always been patient in explaining the details of his work to a mechanical ignoramus like me. I for one will be sad to see the “Chocolate Rocket” go, but hopefully this fabulous car will find an appropriate new home.
I know that this 930 is meticulously maintained.... as it is owned by one of the finest Porsche mechanics in the South....... It checks all the boxes for a period correct ultra rare 930 Hotrod..
Hi, what is the deal with the leaking transaxle?
Nice car!
@52172 Due to personal reasons. Car is a blast to drive and it is hard to replicate. I know regret is coming next.
Bid in the amount of $80,000
Why are you selling it?
@52172 It doesn’t have A/C.
Does it have ac?
Bid in the amount of $76,000
Thanks

The Porsche 930 Andial 3.8L Twin-Turbo is such an incredible car with so many cool details! From the 934-style steering wheel to the intricate engineering choices, it’s clear that only a handful of builders, like Andial, could create something this special.
Andial was the go-to for wild hot-rod builds back in the day. Their expertise and meticulous planning are evident in features like the water-cooled 3.8L twin-turbo setup and the relocated oil tank, which improves weight distribution. This build wasn’t just thrown together—it had a clear vision and purpose from the start.
It’s true, that building something like this today would easily run $250K++ or more, given the craftsmanship, engineering, and parts involved. Cars like this need an owner who truly understands their history and complexity—or has access to a skilled mechanic who does.
Sure, it might need some freshening up here and there, but you’d end up with something truly unique, with a pedigree few others can match. Andial builds hold a special place in Porsche’s history, making this car not just a cool hot rod but also a piece of Porsche's history among Hot rod builds.

I would buy this car in a heartbeat if I could afford it. The seller is an excellent mechanic and did a ton of work on my 911SC. I’ve seen this car in person and it’s beautiful. Anyone who buys this car should rest assured that this car was maintained by a very competent and professional mechanic.
@Maxo964 You're right. I don't know you. But you're selling a car on the internet. You should post a photograph of the most recent invoices showing the extensive service and maintenance this car has received. Otherwise, potential buyers can only take you at your word ... which isn't worth much on an auction site. If you don't have receipts or data to back up your assertion that the car is not deferred or neglected then all we are left to do is judge 4 years of ownership based on 10 year old tires and rusty, crusty brake rotors. But, I'll say it again, the car is awesome, and having the Andial provenance is something that cannot be duplicated; potential buyers should just plan for $7-10K of service and maintenance to bring the car up to snuff.
@mco1973 maintenance is not deferred or neglected as you stated based on YOUR opinion behind a keyboard. You don’t know me, I don’t know you… but if you are SERIOUS buyer I invite you to come to my place located in the sunny and beautiful south FL and check the car in person. Face to face to discuss the items you are saying. The web is full of keyboard warriors…Have a nice day
@Maxo964 I think it's important to note that I've not said anything negative about you or the car. I've merely stated the car is maintenance-deferred based on the visual evidence provided in the photographs. Anyone would do well to budget $7-10K to address the maintenance items this car undoubtedly needs (as is clearly evidenced by the photographs). It looks like a great car ... it just needs some sorting to make sure it's safe. If you disagree with my assessment, please add photographs of the most recent service work, especially those performed during your ownership. This car ticks a lot of boxes, but "regularly serviced and professionally maintained" isn't one of them.
I have personally been in this fantastic Professionally built 930 Hotrod many times. It is Fantastic. Would easily cost $250-300k to replicate today. Real Andial 3.8 engine.... Real Mode Twin turbo intercooler.... ( easily worth $5k alone... if you could ever find one... The super trick oil tank set up.... and twin turbos water cooled.... Engine alone would cost you $100-150k to replicate... This is a serious Hotrod 930... For the most astute collector...
@mco1973 mco1973 tires are not new of course and it is well described on the description. I’ll add what Tire Rack states about tire life: “Tire Rack: tires typically last around 10 years from the date of manufacture” . Do your math based on week/year prod date.
Related to the brakes you are not looking right …brakes are perfectly fine . Car stops
in a dime with about 75-80% brake pad left front and rear. Best advice for you: don’t drive it and pass it on. This car definitely is not a car for you.
@Maxo964 The tires are a decade old and there’s not just rust but corrosion and “old pad” transfer on the rotors … I wouldn’t drive it like that. 😬😬
@mco1973 obviously the car is not a garage queen by any means! Dent on gas tank has been there since I got the car and possibly was there since previous owner built the car. Nothing to worry about it. Car was built to be a track/street weapon. Headliner is there and is custom made to accommodate the roll cage. Do you ever saw a 934 headliner in person? Well finish is not to far apart. The car is not sitting a lot like you suggest… of course is not my daily driver but I do a lot of weekends runs with friends and others air cooled enthusiasts. Car is light and it is FAST. Very fast.
Great, can you post the pictures of the testing?
@993David it’s not annoying at all. Obviously you can heard it but totally tolerable. I went from South FL to Amelia Island twice without any issues at all.
@Clay7484 175-180 psi across all cylinders (8.8:1 CR) and 2-3% leak down average. Zero blow by
This is obviously a wild build. Things I picked out were ancient tires and rusty rotors … this car does a lot of sitting. Also, that headliner setup is pretty janky, and why is there a massive dent in the TOP of the fuel tank? That’s weird.
I’d still feel OK bidding on this but with the understanding that it’s probably best to convert it to MoTec (for ease of continued use/service) and that it likely needs quite a bit of recommissioning to make it safe and road worthy.
Rad car, though. Tough to duplicate and comes with Andial provenance.
How loud is it in fifth with the straight cut gear?
Leakdown/compression testing?
@TransaxleJoe car doesn’t have A/C. Thank you
Bid in the amount of $25,930
Bid in the amount of $21,930
Bid in the amount of $20,911
Would you consider trade for my 2010 Cayman S…I wish!!
Beautiful car ! A guy can dream…
Cheers! btw, does the A/C function? lol
@patina_78 AFR is around 11.3:1 @WOT - best ratio for this engine in particular. EGT monitor and controller gives an extra info to keep everything under control. I can upload some extra videos . Thank you
Can we get a better driving video? Rolling up and down the street in 2nd gear then one partial throttle pull doesn’t really show much. What kind of AFR readings do you see at WOT approaching redline?
@Sebring I have owned the car since 2020. I do have 3 inches thick folder having all build and service records dating back from 1989. Also I have the maintenance history since I have owned it. Thank you
@boosted33 How long has the car been under your stewardship. I guess i'm asking how much information do you have on the history of the car.
This is absolutely ridiculous. I love it. Must be a blast. GLWS!
@boosted33 Custom made forged HREs are 17”x 9” front / 17” x 10.5” rear
Cowl /lower windshield area doesn’t have any rust. The whole car doesn’t have any rust .
Pictures were added.
Thank you
