Factory finished in Minerva Blue Metallic over a Blue leather interior, this 1978 Porsche 911 Turbo is one of 735 examples designated for the European market during the model year and is equipped with a turbocharged 3.3-liter engine delivering power to the rear wheels through a 4-speed manual transaxle and an optional limited-slip differential. The car is said to have undergone restoration in the Netherlands which was completed in 2017 before the car was imported to the U.S. by the current owner in 2022. Accompanied by a Porsche Production Specifications certificate and a collection of service records, this 930 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of California.
This 930 was factory-finished in the uncommon color of Minerva Blue Metallic and was completely stripped and repainted as part of its restoration by Auto Service Kraan of Aalsmeer in the Netherlands. The hood and roof were refinished once again upon arrival in the U.S. in 2022. The Turbo-specific bodywork includes wider fenders than a contemporary Porsche 911 as well as a front chin spoiler and a “tea tray” rear spoiler. Other features include European-market bumpers and side marker lights, headlights washers, front fog lights, a fender-mounted antenna, a rear window wiper, rear fender stone guard decals, and 16” Fuchs forged alloy wheels with body-colored centers. The car rides on a set of Continental ContiSportContact tires and the seller notes some minor imperfections consistent with normal road-going wear. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
Inside, this 911 Turbo showcases a rare Blue leather interior with a contrasting black headliner, carpeting, and leather-wrapped three-spoke steering wheel. Accessories include an electric sunroof, power windows, a locking glovebox, a quartz clock, a central tachometer with an integrated boost pressure gauge, and a vintage Blaupunkt Bamberg stereo. Some signs of wear are present, and the seller reports all gauges and accessories to be fully functional.
The European-spec 3.3-liter turbocharged and intercooled flat-six engine was rated at 300 HP and 304 lb.-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 4-speed manual transaxle and an optional limited-slip differential. The engine was rebuilt by Car Care of Amersfoort, Netherlands, during the mid-1980s and was removed for additional refurbishment during the restoration by Auto Service Kraan in 2017. The turbocharger is also said to have been serviced by Eason Auto Works of Oakland, California, in 2023. Compression test results are provided in the photo gallery along with a collection of service records and a dyno reading showing an output of 278 WHP.
This sale will include a Porsche Production Specifications certificate, service records, a toolkit, a spare tire, and a clean title.

@salimkhalid - underside photos have been added to the gallery, and the chain tensioners have in fact been updated to the hydraulic variants.
@911vroom we highly suggest that buyers not speculate on reserve as many sellers often remove or lower the reserve price at the ending of auction. Many people have lost their chance to own a car by assuming the price was higher.
Hi! This car didn’t meet reserve on BAT earlier this year and I wondered if the reserve has been lowered with the previous high bid in mind?

Hi, are there any undercarriage pictures? It's hard to tell from the documentation due to the language but seeing as the last engine rebuild was 37 years ago, do you know if the chain tensioners were changed to the hydraulic variants?

Down to the last 24 hours here folks, to reiterate:
- all pm's have been responded to, if i have missed your contact, please let me know.
- the car is located in the bay area, i would not hesitate driving it across the country if one wished. but im also happy to help with logistics if needed for the perspective buyer.
- all of the heavy lifting for this car has been completed and it is turn key/ready for the next owner. it is part of a large porsche collection and maintenance is up to date, the importation process, documentation, and titling process are all completed. (Importing a car takes quite a bit of patience, effort, and finances as many of you all may know, but thankfully in this case nothing is needed. The car is stateside and everything has been brought up to par. All it needs is a happy new owner).
- this is likely the only triple minerva blue 930 in the states, making for a great 1 of 1 show car that can be driven and enjoyed as it should be.
If anyone has any other questions, please feel free to reach out. thanks all!

@The_emyrean_._ - are you referencing the intercooler? if so, the intercooler is from the 3.3. 3.0 turbo's were non-intercooled.
Probably a solid driver quality car. It presents well. Gorgeous color. Why is it using a 3L intake vs original 3.3L, though.
I seen some older air cools with the electric ACs and those work extremely well. We are in Houston so a car with no AC is a no go here.

@jbauto - i can understand the desire to have it, but it was under the previous ownership and if im honest, not necessarily something needed in california. If i were the next owner and needed it, i would've likely upgraded to a more modern solution anyways if you actually want it to function well, because lets face it, air cooled 911's typically dont blow as cold as they should regardless. griffiths and a few others are more optimal solutions, and are priced fair relative to the car.
BIG mistake pulling that A/C out of there.

@GrandNatty - when the engine out was done, the a/c system was removed.
@naveed - what happened to the AC?

Hello everyone and welcome to the auction! Very excited to see where things go here. For anyone who has any questions or thoughts, please feel free to reach out using the contact button. But to give some highlights:
- The car is fully serviced and just came back from its most recent service a couple of weeks ago. Please refer to the gallery for the service records. It is turn key ready for the next owner to enjoy. It is quite fast (see dyno) and turns heads everywhere it goes. It was even selected to be on main display at luft and rennsport. its a great show car that can be driven!
- Title is clean and clear and ready for transfer.
- We've added a decent amount of miles on the car, and i wouldn't hesitate driving it anywhere.
- Happy to help with shipping, storage, etc if needed for perspective buyers.
