Nicknamed “Mercy”, this 1978 Porsche is 911SC Coupe that has been completely restored and modified to an exceptionally high standard by the custom outlaw-style 911 builders at gProgramm. It wears the iconic shade of Slate Grey complemented by custom bodywork and a bespoke black leather interior with tartan cloth inserts. Power comes from a twin-plug 3.4-liter engine with PMO carburetors and a 915 5-speed manual gearbox. The second example completed by the exclusive East Coast builder, Mercy was one of three cars driven cross-country from New York to California during a promotional road trip to the Luftgekühlt 4 Porsche gathering and was reviewed by Matt Farah on the Smoking Tire web series. Having been professionally maintained as part of a private collection, this one-off custom 911 is now being offered for auction out of New York.
The custom restoration included the complete media-blasting of the body down to bare metal followed by an application of rust prevention and classic Slate Grey paint. The rocker panels have been eliminated to reveal the oil cooler lines and the fuel filler was relocated to the center hood with an external filler cap. The front bumper is custom fabricated with an impact strip delete for a more streamlined appearance. Other details include black-painted trim, slim European-style rear bumperettes, 9Eleven projector headlamps, a custom decklid grille, dual center-mounted tailpipes, a driver’s side mirror, and Fuchs-style 17” Fikse forged aluminum wheels.
The cabin has been completely redone with new black leather and tartan cloth upholstery including a pair of GTS Classics bucket seats, RS-style door panels, and German square weave carpeting. Other equipment includes a 350mm MOMO Prototipo steering wheel, a bolt-in IO-Port roll bar, a 917-style wooden shift knob, a custom white tachometer dial, Rennline pedal covers, and dual hidden USB ports for charging electronic devices.
The engine was custom-built and blueprinted from the ground up using a 3.0L engine case which was bored and stroked to 3.4 liters and fitted with Carrera cylinders along with twin-plug heads, JE pistons, 964-spec cams, ARP hardware, and Carrera chain tensioners. Fuel is delivered via dual PMO 46mm carburetors and ignition is managed by a distributor-less Electromotive system. The rear wheels are driven through a fully rebuilt 5-speed 915 manual gearbox with a Sachs lightweight clutch and limited-slip differential. Stopping power comes from four-piston 986 Boxster-spec brakes. The chassis uses a GT3 billet front suspension system from Elephant Racing as well as the Elephant Racing ASP kit in the rear.
This sale will include a clean title.

@BoxsterGT it is no longer with the vehicle which gives me reason to point out as this auction nears closing, they were no corners cut on this build. Everything was replaced , down to the door hardware! Truly special 911 here.

What happened to the original factory Mirror?
Is it available?
Bid in the amount of $100,911
@zollerm it has never been on a Dyno so would not want to be misleading in any way. If we had to guess, would say in the ballpark of 250-275
@eozargun 29 is a chip I believe, 44 definitely appears to be a reflection. Happy to FaceTime around the car if helpful
To you.
Horsepower?
@EUROsellinc thanks! Appreciate it. Is 29 just a chip or bubble in the paint (hard to tell from the pic). On 44, it looked like a chip on the hood close to the headlight but it may be just a reflection. Thanks again. Beautiful car!
@eozargun Hi and thank you for the interest. In efforts to build transparency for out of area bidders, we always highlight any flaws that are present on the vehicle. This car only has some minor road going wear (chips) and one minor chip in the windshield which is what you are seeing in pics 26,27,29. Not aware of any flaw being shown in pic 44
@kfitzpat9 Thank you!
Hi. Can you please give more detail on the imperfections in pics 26, 27, 29, 44?
AMAZING Car! best of luck to you!
@Nein-Elf hi and thanks for the interest. “Stewart Black Modern” is the family name
Which family tartan is that?
