A complete frame-off restoration by MGM Racing in Pompano Beach, Florida, this custom 1978 Porsche 911SC Coupe was created as the personal project car of MGM’s chief mechanic Carl Allen. It was completely refinished in its original color of Cashmere Beige and modified with a ducktail spoiler, Turbo-spec Fuchs wheels, Turbo brakes, upgraded suspension, shortened gear ratios, and rebuilt engine featuring Euro-spec pistons, 964 cams, a lightweight flywheel, and more. This 911SC was also factory-optioned with a sunroof, limited-slip differential, and brown leather upholstery. Professionally tuned and customized, this 911SC is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Florida showing just over 75k miles on the odometer.
During the restoration, the exterior was completely refinished in its factory-specified color of Cashmere Beige (502) and customized with an OEM rear ducktail and Turbo-style lip spoiler. The undercarriage, engine compartment, and wheel wells were also repainted during this time. The headlight and fog light lenses have been tinted yellow, the brake calipers are painted red, and Carrera script side decals were applied along with high-quality 3M ceramic window tints. This 911SC rides on genuine 7”x16” and 9”x16” Fuchs wheels sourced from a 1989 Porsche 930 Turbo, dressed in Toyo R888 tires. The seller describes the quality of the paintwork and exterior to be in excellent overall condition, detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The original brown leather interior has been customized with a three-spoke OMP racing steering wheel in Alcantara as well as a set of aluminum pedals, a Wevo shifter, and a carbon fiber handbrake cover. Other accessories include tan “911” logo floor mats, an aftermarket Alpine radio, a factory electric sunroof, and air-conditioning.
Power comes from an air-cooled 3.0-liter flat-six engine that has been upgraded with 964 3.6-spec cams and crankshaft as well as Euro-spec 9:83 pistons, polished/ported heads, a lightweight aluminum clutch, lightweight 225mm scalloped flywheel, and SSI exhaust headers paired with a custom sport muffler and dual center-exit tailpipes. An optional limited-slip differential came equipped from the factory and the 5-speed manual gearbox has been rebuilt with shortened gear ratios, new synchronizers, and slide sleeves. The suspension has been overhauled with monoball rear trailing arms and drop links, larger torsion and sway bars, polyurethane rear torsion bushings, a spherical control arm bearing set, monoball upper strut mounts, an adjustable front camber support bar, and Bilstein Sport shocks front and rear. Stopping power comes from a 930 Turbo brake system including calipers, rotors, master cylinder, and upgraded stainless steel hoses. The seller describes the car to have been very well maintained and notes a full service was completed in preparation for the auction including a thorough inspection as well as oil and fluid changes.
This sale will include the original owner’s manuals, some documentation, and a clean (lien) title.

Last 45min to buy this exceptional 911... I don't think this car is replaceable and I personally consider a 1 of 1 just because the way it drives and behave itself in turns and acceleration... The car just make you feel powerful.
Good luck everybody!
Well, there’s no such thing as a “chassis off” 911 restoration either. It’s a unibody car.
It’s just kind of a big thing to get wrong in the opening paragraph describing a car, Porsche people should know better. good luck with the sale, looks like a good car.
@tdskip well, I think it’s self explanatory but, you can take the word “frame” and replace it with “chassis”.
Chassis was completely corrected and reinforced from scratches. Check these guys out and let us know what do you think after.

@AirCooledCollection - this car doesn't have a frame, so kind of hard to claim "frame-off". Restored, maybe? Customized, certainly. Frame-off, no way.
@tdskip mmm, explain.
Is not guntherwerks or singer doing the same?
Frame-off? Cripes people.

@Bruce914 CATs will take power down. Lucky us, Montana is always open to help us and our cars ;) hahahahah
@Bruce914 thank you for your comment, I do have it too as my wallpaper in my laptop hahaha… the car is a neck breaker and anywhere we take it people need to stop and ask something about it.
Lien title means there’s a lien-holder on the vehicle. Payoff will be paid in full and a clean florida title will be provided to next owner If the car sells.
Bid in the amount of $45,000
Love this car - makes me want to quit my 914-6 search, even saved a pic for my screen saver . When you say lien title, does that mean a clean title? I assume no CAT so I need to register it out of California, shhhh.
Bid in the amount of $40,000
Bid in the amount of $32,500
@redgard totally get you!! Thought about adding some carbone seats matching the brown leather and they would do the work but…. Now you know how I feel about interior hahaha
@Caymanorcarrera this is far away from limo tint… 3M Ceramic tint, 25% dark so it’s fully legal and you can definitely see through them.
Florida heat is strong, when you jump inside the car during the mid of the day, you would be thankful to have ceramic tints installed. Having said that, long term benefits are amazing for car interior.
I personally love the way it looks now.
Nice car, but I'd sure prefer proper badging and non-limo tint...........nowadays you can block out all the UV without the super dark appearance which, IMHO, never looks right on a classic 911.
Bid in the amount of $29,911
Bid in the amount of $20,000
@AirCooledCollection Cruising down a straight Florida highway i could see you point, but taken to the mountains of Colorado i’m afraid there is no way the seats would cut it.. One upside of the current sofas being in the car, the ‘has it been tracked’ question shouldn’t come up!
@redgard I understand your point, I used to think exactly the same but happens that the interior of the car really gives you a time traveling sensation... You are doing 120mph in a 1978 car while others brand new cars are struggling to catch up with you... The interior helps as a little reminder of what are you driving and why are you driving it... with that being said, Interior is as original as it gets with the exception of steering wheel, shifter, handbrake and radio.
@garyklein911 Never tracked before, car conditions are literally perfect and wouldn't risk to go inside a track without a clear film protection on the whole front lol...
@kgishere Since I see a lot of people asking for the Horsepower of this car... I am trying to set an appointment for a Dyno test this weekend or Monday... Will keep you guys posted regarding this.
@garyklein911 135mph-140mph... at this point you realize that engine is not even getting to its max potential... I live in Miami, drive this car everything I get a chance and never had an issue with Oil Temp. In a hot day, it gets to 210 and stays there... at night with a nice weather, car can do magic.
@britco4 You can get to 80mph in 3rd almost hitting redline... 4th gear somewhere around 4500-5000... Car feels extremely strong at any rpm, any gear and you can get to 135mph in 5th without hesitation.
@zollerm being conservative I would like to say Horsepower is somewhere between 280-300hp... I've been involved in the AirCooled Porsche World for a while a never drove a 3.0 SC, 3.2 or 3.2 with G50 that feels not even close to how fast this car is.
Jaw... Dropping.... What a meticulous build
Such a beautiful car... Wondering how much HP this engine makes?
GLWS!
Any extra oil cooling for heavy modified motor? Truly short gears, what is top speed in 5th at redline? Track use experience?
Cashmere Beige is such a wonderful color in person. It really changes with different light. Great build and GLWA.
This car runs and pulls great! i am a little perplexed by the interior, not even sport seats? Having slid around on stock sofa seats in a car like this I cant imagine why they weren't upgraded?
Nice! RPM at 80 MPH, or something close? Is there a HP/Torque vs RPM curve? GLWTA
Horsepower?
What an absolute prime example of tastefully modified SC - hats off to MGM Racing!
@ff2kracer Edit, it was supposed to be FIVE STARS to the builder!
@ff2kracer Thank you! MGM Racing, mastermind behind this amazing car.
