Originally delivered in California, this 1978 Porsche 911SC Coupe benefits from a recent glass-out repaint in its rare factory color of Copper Bronze Metallic. It features an attractive Cork leather interior and is modified with a MOMO Prototipo steering wheel, Fabspeed exhaust, Wilwood brake calipers, a WEVO shifter, and a Griffiths air conditioning system. The 3.0-liter flat-six has also been treated to an engine-out service with Carrera chain tensioners. This beautifully appointed 911SC is now being offered for auction out of Texas with approximately 86k miles showing on the odometer.
This 911SC came factory-finished in Copper Bronze Metallic (443), an uncommon color offered during the late 1970s. The seller indicates the car underwent a glass-out repaint in its original color and the exterior remains in good overall condition with some small chips on the front end. Equipment includes body-colored headlamp rings, rectangular front fog lights, a fender-mounted antenna, an electric sunroof, a driver’s side mirror, a chrome oval Fabspeed exhaust tip, and 15” Fuchs alloy wheels dressed in new tires. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The cabin features desirable Cork leather upholstery complemented by matching carpets, a black headliner, and custom two-tone coco floor mats. Other accessories include an Alcantara-wrapped MOMO Prototipo steering wheel, a WEVO shifter, power windows, air conditioning, an analog clock, a locking glovebox, and a cassette stereo. The air conditioning system has been upgraded with a Griffiths R134A kit including a new compressor, dryer, and lines.
Factory-rated at 180 HP and 175 lb.-ft of torque, the air-cooled 3.0-liter flat-six engine sends power to the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual transaxle. An engine-out service is said to have been completed and the engine has been fitted with upgraded Carrera chain tensioners. Other modifications include a Fabspeed exhaust system and Wilwood brake calipers.
This sale will include owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a spare tire, an air pump, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “This is a great Porsche for anyone looking for a well-sorted car that retains its classic style and elegance but also would make someone an incredible driver.”

@Takeittwothelimit Does the original cat have a portfor an O2 sensor? I'm not sure if there was an O2 sensor used on the SC. I have a 3.2 which has it. I am in San Diego so I have to ask these questions!

No, but I have the original Cat, along with Brake Calipers, Rotors, Steering Wheel, and Shifter… if you review the photos there is a Test pipe installed along with Fabspeed exhaust system. Most states consider this a Classic car and do not require a smog test.
I hope that help answer your concerns.
Bid with confidence! Good luck 🍀
If all of the original smog equipment in place? Thank you
Good morning,
Today is the day to buy a vintage 911 and be the only one at Coffee and Car with such a unique color! Bid with confidence! Good luck 🍀
No it is not TMU. I have documentation to show mileage of the car through registration.
I’m sorry if you heard me wrongly call the mileage. My client had a few cars in his collection sir.
You are correct, the car mileage is 87,180 miles.
In the walk around video, you say it's a 60,000-mile 2 owner car but the odometer reading is 87,180 miles.
Why the difference? Is it TMU? Thx
I'm watching this one closely. Beautiful color and cute wheels. Fellow native Texan 😊
Good morning bidders, I have uploaded a Cold Start and Drive video along with all the service receipts that came with the car. Also have a Porsche Technical Certificate document from Porsche. Bid with confidence! Good luck 🍀
@bhill you are correct. I believe the editor is the one missed on this one. I sent pics of the tires.
Thanks for bid! And Good luck 🍀
What a beautiful gem! GLWTA!
Gorgeous car! Two comments; a pretty early build/ VIN, and the wheels/ tire combo is 16", not 15" as stated in the description. GLWTA!
