Up for auction is this eye catching 1977 Porsche 911 Targa S presented in the rare combination of Emerald Green Metallic over a tan leather interior. Representing Porsche’s top-range Targa model, this thoroughly documented 1977 example features an upgraded 3.2 L flat-six engine which provides for a healthy increase in horsepower. As previously listed on PCARMARKET, this Targa has been under the diligent care of its second owner since 1980 and is now being offered for auction in good running order.
This Targa S is finished in its rare factory color of Emerald Green Metallic. Reported to have always been garage-kept by its current owner, the exterior is shown to be in great condition with some imperfections (detailed images are available in the photo gallery). A distinctive wraparound Targa bar and rear dome window provide for classic styling that is sought after by many enthusiasts. Widened rear fenders have been implemented to accommodate wider rear tires which are mounted on a set of factory Fuchs wheels. These wheels exhibit some minor patina and are currently dressed in a set of Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires.
This Targa’s classic tan leather interior has been recently outfitted with new carpeting, custom Braum racing seats, a MOMO Sport steering wheel and an upgraded head unit with an impressive array of JL audio, Hertz, Focal, Rockford Fosgate, Boston Acoustic & Alpine audio components. The interior is stated to be in excellent shape with the only issues reported as being nonfunctioning air-conditioning and dashboard lights. The center console fan/heat control bezel is currently uninstalled; however, all other accessories are said to be present.
In 1984, this Targa’s original air-cooled 2.7 L flat-six engine was swapped out for a 3.0 L SC motor which was then professionally rebuilt and upgraded up to a 3.2 L (3187cc) displacement using OEM European parts. The resulting increase in power greatly improves this car’s drivability and overall performance. The rear wheels are driven by way of a number’s matching 5-speed 915 manual transmission. The seller indicates that the motor and transmission were rebuilt during the mid 80’s which was done to an extremely high standard. Since then, all scheduled service has been routinely carried out and documented. This Targa S is said to remain in excellent running order with a newly installed battery, just waiting to begin its journey with a new owner.
The sale of this 911 will include a set of two keys, a new vehicle delivery ticket, owner's manuals and comprehensive service records as well as a toolkit, jack and spare tire. If you have been in search of a vintage air-cooled Targa, this absolutely stunning Emerald Green Metallic example makes the perfect choice.

hi Tom,
Are there any pictures available of the undercarriage that can be emailed? And can you please send me the videos you have?
Bid in the amount of $1,000
Thanks for your interest in the Targa. I (Tom) will do my best to answer any questions. I have the center console fan bezel and the fan works properly. I did not replace the bezel before taking the cab shots. The gear box was getting loose and wobbly so it was rebuilt 3 months ago. I have a cold start, warm-up and short run video I can email too.
