Offered for auction is this 1977 Porsche 911S Coupe finished in Guards Red over a tan leather interior. Marking the final year of the 2.7L 911, this 1977 example’s flat-six has been completely rebuilt over the years and upgraded with Carrera chain tensioners, a billet sump plate, Turbo valve covers, LSD Motorsports stainless steel headers, a Bursch muffler, and more. A perfect air-cooled driver’s car, this tastefully upgraded and well serviced 911S is now being offered for auction by its seller out of New York showing approximately 190k miles on the odometer.
This Coupe is finished in traditional Guards Red paint with silver window moldings, chrome headlight rings, rectangular front fog lights, U.S. market bumperettes, and classic 16” Fuchs wheels dressed in General tires from 2007. The seller notes the car has been stored in a heated garage and driven very sparingly since the tires were mounted. A few rust spots are depicted, and the finish is said to have been professionally reconditioned by a paint specialist prior to an application of ceramic coating. The car is believed to have been refinished at some point and some cosmetic imperfections are noted throughout the exterior as well as faded rubber pieces. Additional images are provided in the gallery.
The tan leather interior has been fitted with an upgraded MOMO Prototipo steering wheel and retains manually-adjustable seats with basketweave pattern inserts. An aftermarket radio has been equipped and some signs of age-related wear are noted including a small rip on the passenger seat. All accessories and instrumentation work properly apart from the oil gauge, heat, and A/C systems.
Displacing 2.7 liters, the engine uses a stock 7R magnesium case and was reportedly rebuilt from the bottom-up during the early 1990s with all new gaskets and seals, oil lines, upgraded Carrera chain tensioners, Turbo lower valve covers, a billet sump plate, LSD Motorsports headers, and a Bursch muffler. The heads were reportedly cleaned and inspected last winter and the head studs are all said to be in good condition. All original emissions equipment has been removed along with the heat and A/C components. A new clutch was installed about two years ago and the 5-speed 915 manual transmission has been recently flushed with new fluid. The car is currently set to European ride height and features upgraded stainless steel brake lines and Bilstein dampers at each corner. The seller notes the airbox, CV joints, and tie rods are all new as well.
This sale will include the original owner's manuals and a clean title.

@lennyhd2002 The crack is coming from the air vents on the front dashboard. Besides that, it’s in great shape as well as the headliner and the seats (there’s a small rip in the stitching on the seat cushion of the passenger seat which is an easy fix)
I have a box of parts that came with the car, has things from the air conditioning as well as the heating. I’ll post some pictures of that, in the binder which I’ll post as well, there’s the previous owners research on the reinstall
@BabaBooey69 Thanks for the interest! The exhaust is clean, no smoke from burning oil. Engine runs really strong, I use the oil for classic cars that Porsche sells.
Picture 39, what is that crack ? Where is it located ?
What photos shows the rust ?
What is needed for the AC system to blow cold ?
Burn any oil?
Bid in the amount of $20,000
@Koolbilly123 Hey @Koolbilly123 the car’s in great shape and can easily handle the strain of weekend driving. The oil gauge needs a look at but I always check the level in the engine bay regardless. There’s a small leak from under the undercarriage but that’s very common for 911’s and it doesn’t lose much oil. The engine gaskets we’re almost all changed in the last couple of years.
Hi Seller great 911 example, Any smoke or leaks? Any due mechanical issues for a weekend driver?
Thank U
@garyklein911 Thanks for the interest! Uploading the photos I have now, will have pictures of the new CV joins and rods tomorrow as I won’t be able to get to the car before then
pictures of bottom and engine/transmission and bottom of car, especially suspension?
