This 1977 Porsche 911S Targa was acquired by the current owner 25 years ago at 48k miles and has been driven approximately 13k miles since. It was completely refinished in the current shade of red and benefits from a major engine overhaul including all new seals and gaskets. Equipped with factory Sport Seats and a fuel-injected 2.7L flat-six engine, this 911S is now being offered for auction by its longtime owner out of Michigan.
This 911S is said to have been completely stripped and refinished in a metallic red color under current ownership. The removable Targa top is also said to have been replaced. Equipment includes polished aluminum rocker and wheel arch deco moldings, chrome door handles and window trim, chrome headlight rings, rectangular front fog lights, a driver’s side mirror, and a brushed silver Targa bar with a gloss dome rear window. The car rides on OEM 15” Cookie Cutter wheels. The seller notes the tires were replaced within the last 2k miles and some paint chips are present throughout the exterior. The paint code in the driver’s door jamb shows the car’s original color to have been Bitter Chocolate (408-9-1). Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The cabin features desirable Cork upholstery with optional Sport Seats and matching carpets. Equipment includes manual window cranks, a leather steering wheel cover, a vintage AM/FM cassette stereo, and an aftermarket under-dash air-conditioning system. The seller notes the air-conditioning system needs to be filled, the car’s heater boxes have been removed, and the odometer recently failed within the last 100 miles. All other gauges and accessories are said to be working properly.
The air-cooled and fue-injected 2.7-liter flat-six engine was rated at 165 HP, driving the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual transmission. The seller notes a major engine service was completed about 5 years ago including all new seals and gaskets. Two brake calipers were also replaced under current ownership along with the exhaust manifolds.
This sale will include some service records, a toolkit, a spare tire, a car cover, a battery charger, a front bra, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “I have owned the car for about 25 years. It had 48,000 miles on it when I bought it. I put about 13,000 miles on it in the past 25 years. It has spent most of its time in storage. I am the 3rd owner. About 5 years ago, I had the engine torn down and had all the seals and gaskets replaced. The car runs great. The top has also been replaced.”

This is the last day of the auction for my 911S. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask me. By the way, the last bidder thought it would be funny to use "the bidding is closed" for his ID. I assure you that the bidding is not closed.
Thanks
@reallygoodband It has OEM air conditioning but it has been out of Freon for quite a while. I only used the air conditioning a couple of times years ago so I don't know if just adding Freon would bring it back to life. The tires have been on the car for about 12 years but have less than 2k miles on them. They don't lose air and look like new.
@reallygoodband I see it needs "refilling"... is that all for the AC to work properly?
Hello, I live in Arizona... Does the A/C blow cold? Also, how old are the tires? Thank you.

@urfealex I uploaded a few photos of some service work done. The gasket and seal work done plus a lot of other things I had done while the engine was torn down. Also an invoice for a new fuel injector installed, and the new paint job.

Thanks. I understand your situation . Anything you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
@urfealex I can do a start up video but driving is tuff. I keep it at our lake house and I'm here alone. I'll see what I can find for paper work. I never thought about selling it and as the years go by, I lose track of paperwork. The only reason I'm selling is because I'm now over 70 and it's not that easy for me to get in and out of anymore. I'll see what I can find.
Very nice early 911S. Do you have invoices for any of the work that was done on the car? Some start-up and driving videos would enhance the auction. Thanks in advance.
@witz I don't have a lift. I'll see what I can do. It may take a day or two.
Thanks for the photos , but you can’t see much. You need to park on a slope and take some shots. Or put car on a lift.
Thanks
@witz The new pictures have been added. Let me know if you need anything else.

@witz I took the pictures. Waiting for PCM to upload them to the list of pictures. I took the floor pictures from underneath the car. There are no rust issues on any part of the car. It hasn't seen rain in the 25 years I've owned it.
Yes, the floors
@witz There are no rust issues.
@witz I can take some pictures of the brakes. Are you talking about the belly pan?
Can you take some photos of the pan and brakes?
Any rust issues?
Thanks
