This 1977 Porsche 911S Targa was factory-finished in Continental Orange over black partial-leather upholstery and equipped with a fuel-injected 2.7-liter flat-six engine paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. It was acquired by the seller out of California in September 2023 and has since undergone a restoration including full glass-out paintwork, ceramic coating, reupholstered seats, a new headliner, and a major engine-out service. This 911S Targa is now being offered for auction in Florida with approximately 82k miles showing on the odometer.
This 911S recently underwent a full glass and engine-out repaint in its rare factory-specified color of Continental Orange (B2). It features chrome headlight bezels, bright wheel arch moldings, aluminum rocker trim, a body-colored driver’s side mirror, a fender-mounted antenna, a removable black vinyl roof panel, a brushed stainless-steel Targa bar, and 15” Fuchs alloy wheels dressed in Kumho Steel Radial 722 tires. The seller states all rubber seals were replaced during the paintwork and a ceramic coating was applied to the exterior. A small paint chip is noted on the upper right corner of the rear decklid. The black partial leather interior has been refurbished with professionally reupholstered seats and a new headliner for the removable Targa top. Accessories include a leather-wrapped three-spoke steering wheel, power windows, three-point seatbelts, a quartz clock, and a sound system with an aftermarket radio. The A/C compressor has been removed, although the hoses and front condenser remain in place should the next owner wish to restore A/C functionality.
Factory-rated at 165 HP and 176 lb.-ft of torque, the fuel-injected 2.7-liter flat-six engine sends power to the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual transaxle. The engine was recently removed and serviced with new valve and timing cover gaskets, upgraded Carrera chain tensioners, a new fuel filter, air filter, spark plugs, distributor cap/rotor, spark plug wires, a fuel sender, warmup regulator, CDI box, ignition coil, and a new battery. Service records from previous ownership show the fuel injectors, injector seals, fuel pump, fuel accumulator, and brake pads were replaced in 2017. The seller adds that fuel pressure adjustments and general tuning have been completed in preparation for sale.
This sale will include a spare tire and a clean title.

Beautiful car - I see the tach not working, all other gauges work? Also was the rear suspension raised?
@Chipper Hello, I'd like to respectfully add that the numbers in the photograph appear to be exactly like the original Porsche factory stamping. Every engine from that era was stamped in this very way. Additionally, the engine number matches the VIN and other vehicle information, as verified in the Porsche Red Book.
Thanks. That does not look like a factory stamping at all and the engine shroud is the wrong color. Probably another engine filed down and restamped.
