Finished in Sienna Metallic over a black interior, this 1977 Porsche 911S Targa is equipped with a fuel-injected 2.7-liter flat-six engine and a 5-speed manual transaxle. This 911S was reportedly purchased from the original owner’s estate and was subsequently brought to a Porsche dealership for mechanical service. This classic air-cooled Targa is now being offered for auction out of Pennsylvania with under 64k miles showing on the odometer.

This 911S came factory-finished in Sienna Metallic (436), a rarely seen color that was offered on the 911 model between 1976 and 1977, and again for the 911SC in 1979. Equipment includes a removable black roof panel, a satin black Targa bar, a driver’s side mirror, rectangular front fog lights, a fender-mounted antenna, and 15” Fuchs alloy wheels. Some cosmetic imperfections and patina are shown including a damaged clear coat on the hood, headlight bezels, and windshield frame. The tires are also recommended for replacement due to age. Additional images are provided in the gallery.

The cabin is appointed with black leatherette upholstery and matching velour carpets and floor mats. Accessories include a black three-spoke steering wheel, power windows, manually adjustable front seats, folding rear seatbacks, a heater, a Blaupunkt stereo, and an analog VDO clock. The seller indicates the Targa top needs to be refreshed.

This 911S is equipped with a fuel-injected 2.7-liter flat-six engine that delivers up to 165 HP to the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual transaxle. The fuel tank was replaced as part of a fuel system overhaul by a Porsche dealer in 2022 and service in 2023 included replacing the driver’s window switch, turn signal switch, rear brake pads, shift coupler, hood struts, fuel gauge sender, and cold start injection unit. The seller adds that the car has an updated state inspection.

This sale will include owner’s manuals, a spare tire, an air pump, some service records, and a clean title.

The seller would like you to know: “The car is in great running condition and can be enjoyed as it is. There is no rust and has never had any paint work in my opinion.”

@urfealex No changes from the factory setup. Just maintenance (spark plugs and wires, air filter etc...) Thanks

  • urfealex (registered bidder) 1 week, 3 daysago

Nice older example of this classic. With the low mileage I assume there have been no engine upgrades( tensioners etc). Correct.

@wcode Everything works as it should but this is a no A/C car. Thanks

Thanks for looking and bidding on this very original 911. A doctor that lived around 30 miles from me, bought this car new and was the only owner. He passed away in 2010 and that was the last year it was driven. The car was kept by his wife in the attached garage at their house. She later went to assisted living and the family decided to sell the house and car. They put a new battery in and fuel. It ran but not well. We purchased the car from them in May 2022. The car was taken to our Porsche dealer for evaluation. They replaced the fuel tank and other work. We decided to take it to an independent specialist that really knew these older 911s. He got the car running like new. Other work was done to get everything in order and pass PA state inspection ( see receipts). Everything works as it should including the factory radio.

This is a great, very original car with no rust and original paint. It can be driven and enjoyed the way it is or take it to the next level with new paint. If you can come to central Pennsylvania, I would be happy to show the car. Videos will be posted tomorrow! Again, thanks for looking and good luck to the highest bidder!

  • Chipper (registered bidder) 2 weeks, 3 daysago

Likely why it was parked. These 5 blade fan engines needed rebuilding around 70k miles.

  • GrigioF430 2 weeks, 3 daysago

Man - this thing is pretty original down to the 5 blade fan, thermal reactors, EGR system , and smog pump. Pretty rare to find one like this I would think. These cars ran "very" hot with all that emissions driven equipment in place, leading to early valve jobs & other things. Good luck with the auction.
