This 1977 Porsche 911S is believed to have been modified by Northern California Porsche hot rod builder Dink Farmer featuring a custom metal bodywork with a chopped-top roof, recessed headlights, 911 Turbo fender flares, a Carrera rear spoiler, and fiberglass bumpers. It was discovered in an unfinished state in Southern California about three years ago by the seller and his two brothers, a trio that has been collecting and modifying Porsches for over 45 years. The brothers set out to finish the car and refurbish its 3.2-liter Carrera engine along with the installation of a new upgraded suspension, 996 Turbo brakes, an anti-roll bar, and 18” Fikse wheels. It also features new custom houndstooth bucket seats, a MOMO Prototipo steering wheel, vintage Heuer rally timers, and leather RS-style door panels. This one-of-a-kind 911 custom is now being offered for auction out of California.

Under prior ownership, this car received extensive custom metalwork which is believed to have been carried out by Dink Farmer. Its defining feature is a 3” lowered roof which required cutting and sectioning the upper parts of the quarter panels, the rear window openings, and more. Steel 930 Turbo fender flares were installed at the front and rear, the headlights have been recessed or “Frenched” into the fenders, the seams between the cowl and top of the fenders have been filled in and smoothed-out and fiberglass bumpers are installed along with a Carrera-style rear spoiler. The front windshield was also derived from a 911 Speedster. The seller adds that there is no evidence of filler or Bondo used throughout the car. Under current ownership, the partially finished frames and side windows were completed with over 80 hours of painstaking labor. The new custom Lexan windows are fully functional, and the reshaped powder-coated frames are bordered by weatherstripping for a proper seal. The car was refinished in its current gray paint color about 20 years ago and has been decorated by the seller with 917-style mirrors and red contrasts for the oil cooler grille, cowl vent, brake calipers, and top stripe. The car rides on 18” Fikse wheels that have been restored in satin black with red anodized hardware. New tires were mounted two years ago and the seller indicates imperfections in the car’s paint, detailed images are provided in the gallery.

The black interior has been fitted with new carpeting, leather RS-style door panels, and custom low-back bucket seats trimmed in black leather with houndstooth cloth centers. Other accessories include a three-spoke MOMO steering wheel, a fire extinguisher, red seatbelts, red door pull straps, and a 911SC dashboard fitted with vintage Heuer rally timers. The seller adds that the gauges have been cleaned and refurbished, although the clock remains inoperable.

This 911 was fitted with a replacement 3.2-liter Carrera engine under prior ownership. The engine was removed by the current owners and overhauled with reconditioned cylinder heads, new pistons and internals, fuel injection rails, hardware, wiring, oil lines, and polished intake manifolds. The engine breathes through a pair of headers and a custom early 911 two-inlet muffler with 2.5” pipes exiting through the bumper. A front-mounted TRE Motorsports oil cooler has been installed as well. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 5-speed 915 manual transmission that has been rebuilt with new synchros, a new clutch, pressure plate, and flywheel. A new upgraded suspension and anti-roll bar have been installed and the brakes have been upgraded with 996 Turbo calipers and cross-drilled rotors.

This sale will include a clean title.
