Built as a tribute to the legendary Carrera RSR race cars that competed in the IROC series during the mid-1970s, this 911 features a full IROC-style body conversion, upgraded brakes and suspension, a custom interior, and an overhauled 3.0-liter twin-plug engine. Cared for by the current owner since 2014, this nicely executed Carrera RSR tribute is now being offered for auction by its seller out of California.
The bodywork has been modified with widened steel fender flares along with IROC-style bumpers and a rear wing. It was finished in the historic Porsche color of Mexico Blue using a four-stage paint process including the door jambs and a black painted engine bay. The car was fitted with new OEM body seals, stickers, decals, and a new windshield as well as mesh lower body panel inserts and French rally yellow H4 headlamps. It rides on a set of custom RSR-style Braid Fuchs wheels measuring 9” wide in front and 11” wide in the rear, dressed in period-correct Michelin racing tires. The exterior is described to be in excellent condition with some small paint chips, detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The cabin has been redone and fitted with a pair of corduroy-trimmed sport bucket seats as well as a three-spoke MOMO Prototipo steering wheel, RSR-style door panels, and Schroth safety harnesses. The custom hidden stereo system includes a Sony RSXGS9 Bluetooth head unit paired with Focal 3-way speakers and a RetroSound amplifier/subwoofer. The tachometer has been rebuilt by Palo Alto Speedometer with a custom yellow dial to match the door pulls. Other accessories include custom Porsche-branded floormats with yellow accents, stainless-steel “IROC RSR” door sills, and an aftermarket shifter.
Power comes from a 911SC-derived 3.0-liter flat-six engine rebuilt with all new components as well as upgraded MSD twin-plug ignition, PMO carburetors, and an S-Car-Go/SSI custom exhaust system. A full Bilstein suspension kit was installed along with front and rear sway bars, and stopping power comes from upgraded 911 brakes with all new lines, hardware, an upgraded master cylinder, and drilled/slotted rotors. The seller states a compression test was recently passed with satisfactory results and has provided a collection of build/service invoices for reference. The most recent invoice shows an oil change completed in May 2022 along with the installation of new spark plugs, a new fuel filter, an upgraded alternator, and an upgraded A/C condenser.
This sale will include a clean title and some documentation.

@pm2207 - The answers, provided by the owner, to your questions in the order asked...yes, yes on the suspension and steering. There are no spacers as the Briad wheels were make bespoke and specifically for the set up and spacing.
Originally guards red?
Looks like Boge front strut bodies. Did he have the inserts custom valved?
Is there a bump steer kit installed?
How wide are the spacers? Did it solve the wheel rubbing?
@PCARMARKET_MODERATOR Thanks
@blander389 - Just made contact with owner. He says the hp is at the crank. There's one CDI box into two coils.
Cpl questions. 335hp seems high for a 3.0. Maybe at the crank but certainly not wheel HP. Do you have information on the engine build (compression, components?) that would support 335hp or a dyno run? Imagine thats got to get very high in the revs to make that power so would expect more info on internals with the build. Also from the pics i see one MSD CDI box. Are there actually two CDI boxes or this is one box wired to two blaster coils? Nice looking car

@PorscheWoodlandHills Thanks for pushing it. Maybe today will be the lucky day.
@pm2207 Spoke to them about an hour ago and they're working on it.
@PorscheWoodlandHills Thanks. Look forward to seeing them.
Fingers crossed PCAR will get them uploaded.
@pm2207 We submitted the requested pictures and they will be uploaded by Pcar. Thank you.

The mountain roads in Idaho are beckoning this one
Is it possible to post photos of the front/rear suspension, brakes and underbody?
@Bruce914 - Ah, the price we Californias pay for sunny and 70s all year.
Will the seller let us Californians register it at his address?
@redgard - Owner states 335 HP and suspension is set up for street, not track.
sorry i thought this has been a race car..
do you know the HP of the car currently?
i am assuming the suspension was set up for street not track use.
@550bryan oops just saw the note on the Nevada title.
Love this car, but as a 77 it can't be smogged in Calif can it?
@928GTS - Registered/titled in Nevada.
@eatonr53 - It's registered/titled in Nevada. It's street legal and can be registered in any state except California.
@eatonr53 - Yes.
@broadwayjoe - Classic Retrofit.
@Another911 - Current owner has provided receipts for the top end. Previous owner completed lower end build and twin plug conversion with no receipts available for that portion.
@928GTS The California title does not make it street legal
It looks like track tires etc
@eatonr53 it's a tribute RSR with over 24k on it. Also. A California title, so that, to, says it's street legal
sad to see these venerable old race cars converted into cars and coffee novelitys. At the last club race weekend here in Colorado only three air cooled cars were driven across all the classes :(
is this car street legal and currently registered?
What brand of AC system is in the vehicle?
That is one great looking car with a very nice build!l…Mexico Blue!!! Will you be posting the invoices for the engine build?
Beautiful car with lots of nice details. GLWA!
