This 1976 Porsche 914 2.0 was acquired by the seller in 2018 from a PCA member out of Indiana, who had reportedly removed the engine at 70k miles and replaced the clutch, oil cooler, all vacuum lines, the complete ignition system, engine mounts, transmission mounts, fuel lines, injectors, and more. The exterior was recently painted in silver Plasti-dip by the current owner in addition to brake service. This 914 2.0 is now being offered at auction by its seller out of Indiana accompanied by some spare parts.
The exterior has recently been repainted with silver Plasti-dip coating along with a checkered flag pattern over the original red decklid. Equipment includes a black textured top with a removable Targa roof panel, black rubber bumpers, pop-up headlights, dual exhaust outlets, chrome door mirrors, and a Porsche-branded tailight panel. The seller describes some blemishes on the left front fender and some minor dents on the driver’s side quarter panel, detailed images are provided in the gallery. The 15” Mahle wheels were reportedly refinished under previous ownership and come mounted with Toyo Proxes R1R from 2018.
The interior is trimmed in black vinyl upholstery with a matching bulkhead, carpeting, and door panels. Equipment includes a glovebox, manual window rollers, a suede-wrapped Sparco steering wheel, a wooden 917-style shift knob, VDO instrumentation, a 5-panel rearview mirror, air conditioning, and an AM/FM radio. The seats are said to have been reupholstered under prior ownership and the seller notes that the gas gauge sticks intermittently.
This 914 is powered by an air-cooled 2.0L flat-four with Bosch electronic fuel injection, factory rated at 91 HP and 105 lb-ft of torque. A 5-speed manual transmission routes power to the rear wheels. A major engine-out service is said to have been carried out by the previous owner at 70k miles and the brakes are said to have been serviced more recently by the current owner.
This sale will include a clean title and some associated spare parts.

@racerx44 Oddly enough, it was the most popular car at the PCA Porsche Palooza
Sorry but you should have left it red…
The Plasti Day project was inspired by Magnus Walker but he did not use Plasti-dip ,he used real paint out of a can. It's art ?
@Hdog10 Check out the pics. The car is Scarlet red before it was painted with Plasti dip. No chicken wire here ?
@Hdog10 Thank you for the comment.
@76Boxer plasti dip is garbage comes in a rattle can and is not durable and it is unthinkable someone would paint a car with it unless they used chicken wire and plaster of Paris to patch and film the rust holes in their 62 Comet
Any more pictures needed just let me know.
@deusexmachina77 Well, "photos that show under all the carpets ; frunk, trunk and floors" is a good start. The car is in Indianapolis, IN, so if you cannot go see it and drive it, get a PPI done by a local PCA guy, Classic P-Car mechanic, or just ask for someone on www.914World.com "Garage Forums" (join if not a member, it's free) that lives nearby to go take a look and test drive it this weekend, only 4 days left.
I'm waiting for more pics and comments, there are some questions and some issues that may or may not be serious. Going on a road trip with my long lost little brother this weekend so may not be around much. P-Car and BaT are not the only places to sell 914s, avoid eBay and BH Cars in Cali at all costs but if you can't see it and drive it, don't buy it. Good Luck!

@deusexmachina77 Uploading photos now. You'll notice on the trunk. It looks black. Someone used a rust resolver but it is not rusted, surface discoloration.
I’d appreciate photos that show under all the carpets ; frunk, trunk and floors. Thank you.
@deusexmachina77 Any and all questions or comments are welcome ?
@MCShack A penny for your thoughts.
@deusexmachina77 Plasti dip is a rubber paint, very durable.
@deusexmachina77 Plasti Dip. It will peel right off.
Hello,
Can you please explain the finish on the car? I've never heard dip coated. Can this be removed?
Bid in the amount of $1,000

Photos are uploading. You will notice on the passenger side in area was cut out for the air conditioning condenser lines but there is no rust. Also, the original rockers, a rear windshield and a passenger side glass comes with the purchase.
@PJM Thanks for the comment. I will get those photos uplaoded within the next 2 hours.
Great pictures, but I've owned a "CA car" and found it had rust...detailed pictures of the inner rocker panels and jack points would add confidence in bidding! Thank you

@vwpowr The paint underneath the plasti-dip is not bad, car has been painted before. There are areas that have been wet sanded. There is no rust in the trunk, but last owner sprayed a black paint.
How bad is the condition of the red paint under the plasti dip? Also is that rust on the welds in the rear trunk? hard to tell in the pictures. Thanks
Hello everybody, Just wanted to make a quick comment that this is a California car with no rust. All comments and questions are welcome.
