Sold exclusively in the United States for a single model year, the Porsche 912E was introduced as a replacement for the outgoing 914 model. Sharing its chassis with the upscale 911 model, it was equipped with a 2.0-liter flat-four engine featuring Bosch L-Jetronic fuel injection. This example was refinished in its factory Paint to Sample color of Anthracite over a Black interior and features a sunroof, 14” Fuchs alloy wheels, body-color impact bumpers, a front spoiler, four-wheel disc brakes, and more. This numbers-matching 912E is now being offered for auction by its seller out of California with approximately 69k miles showing on the odometer and a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity.

This example has been refinished in Anthracite and features bright trim around the headlights, door handles, and windows. Equipment also includes a sunroof, fog lights, and a heckblende center tail panel reflector with "PORSCHE" lettering. It rides on 14” Fuchs alloy wheels fitted with Dunlop SP Sport A2 tires reported to be in good condition. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.

The cabin is appointed with Black upholstery and is complemented by a matching dashboard, carpets, and trim. Amenities include power windows, a heater, and a Blaupunkt AM/FM cassette stereo. All gauges and electronics are reported to be in working condition, with no warning lights illuminated.

Power comes from an air-cooled and fuel-injected 2.0-liter flat-four engine, delivering a factory-rated 86 HP and 98 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual transmission. The seller reports that the vehicle recently underwent full service, including maintenance for the air conditioning system.

This sale will include a clean title, service books, a jack, a spare tire, a tool kit, and a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity.

The seller would like you to know: “This is a very nice driving example."

    @ACSlater hey good morning!

I am sorry I didn't get the date codes. They're older tires that are in good shape.

The car is fully serviced and I would have no qualms driving it anywhere quite honestly

  • ACSlater (registered bidder) 6 months, 2 weeksago

@bigvitty4u thanks for the videos, the car sounds really good!

Were you able to verify date codes on the tires?

Any other maintenance needs before the car could be taken on a road trip or weekend rally?

@ACSlater I have done the requested videos. I however can not upload them. I have emailed the videos to PCar. The transmission shifts very smoothly through all gears! And engine is very tight.

Thank you in advance for your interest

  • bigvitty4u (seller) 6 months, 2 weeksago

    Hey everyone

I would like to mention. I had the fuel line that runs from the tank to the engine through the chassis replaced. For those who don't know that is a very difficult (some shops won't do it) and expensive job. It was done with factory porsche parts as well.

  • bigvitty4u (seller) 6 months, 2 weeksago

@rjwa918 that is an error in the description they are fixing that.

Please see the Certificate of Authenticity in the photo gallery. Showing paint to sample and all black seats.

  • bigvitty4u (seller) 6 months, 2 weeksago

@ACSlater I should be able to be with the car tomorrow and get your videos and questions answered. Sorry for the delay

  • PCARMARKET 6 months, 2 weeksago

    @rjwa918 apologies
The description will be updated. The seats do not have inserts. They are all black.

  • bigvitty4u (seller) 6 months, 2 weeksago

@themachinestl Thank you for the compliment on the car! I
think once you drive it you would feel differently. It sounds amazing. And the heat wrap is nice too.

  • ACSlater (registered bidder) 6 months, 2 weeksago

What is the date code on the tires?

  • themachinestl (registered bidder) 6 months, 2 weeksago

Very nice car. I know what I would do immediately if it became mine: replace the exhaust! Looks very strange.

  • rjwa918 (registered bidder) 6 months, 2 weeksago

@bigvitty4u can you explain the leather seat pics? Description indicates cloth, “This example was refinished in its factory Paint to Sample color of Anthracite over a Black interior with cloth inserts”.

Question, I hope to be the winning bidder but I’m in California so I’m curious about two things, 1. Passing California Smog and 2. I noticed the California plates expired in 2009. If it was a private seller to private buyer the buyer would have to pay the last 15 years of registration. ( if it was not registered in 2009 as a Non-op. But you being a dealer I’m not how it works . I know I’ll have to pay sales tax but can you give me an approximate cost of the registration fees ? Thanks again

  • S.tielens (registered bidder) 6 months, 2 weeksago

Can you tell me about any previous paint work, either part or whole. It appears from the pictures that the doors (both sides) area a different shade from the rear panels.

  • bigvitty4u (seller) 6 months, 2 weeksago

    Hello everyone,

I was not able to get a smog appointment for this week due to the holiday.

That being said if the winner is from California and needs I smog I of course will get the car smogged. All smog items are present and the car runs extremely well. So there should be zero issues with it passing smog.

Being in a small area there's only a couple of small smog shops that do these older cars. It now takes special equipment to do them most smog shops opted to get with the updates a few years ago due to expense and lack of use.
