In 1976, the 912 rejoined Porsche’s North American model range to replace the 914 as the brand’s entry-level sports car, featuring the 911’s chassis paired with a lightweight fuel-injected 2.0-liter engine. This 912E is one of 2,092 examples produced in total and comes finished in Schwarz Black over a matching partial leather interior. Featuring several modifications including 16” Fuchs wheels, LED headlights, Elephant Racing trailing arms, custom tartan seats, and a MOMO steering wheel, this 912E was acquired by the current owner about 6 years ago and benefits from an engine rebuild within the last 30k miles. This 912E is now being offered for auction out of California.

This 912E is finished in Black with chrome window moldings, mirrors, door handles, tailpipe, and headlamp bezels. The car features rectangular front fog lights, an electric sliding sunroof, a fender-mounted antenna, Truck-Lite LED headlights, and a set of 16” Fuchs alloy wheels. The seller notes the car was refinished under previous ownership over 16 years ago and is currently treated with a full exterior ceramic coating. A scratch is present on the driver’s side near the sunroof as well as the driver’s side rear wheel arch.

The black interior features custom black vinyl seats with tartan cloth inlays as well as a three-spoke MOMO Prototipo steering wheel, upgraded speakers, a modern Blaupunkt stereo, and black carpet floor mats with red Porsche lettering. The seller notes some separation of the headliner material and confirms all gauges and accessories to be fully functional.

The 912E is powered by a Porsche-designed VW 2.0L four-cylinder engine with Bosch L-Jetronic fuel injection and an output of up to 86 HP and 98 lb.-ft of torque. An engine overhaul is said to have been completed in 1998 including an upgraded hydraulic cam and lifter package. Power is sent to the rear wheels by way of a 5-speed 915 manual gearbox and stopping power is handled by disc brakes at each corner. The suspension has also been upgraded with Elephant Racing trailing arms, bushings, adjustable spring plates, and 24mm torsion bars. The engine is said to have been rebuilt within the last 30k miles including a new clutch which was completed by Black Forest Automotive of San Diego.

This sale will include a clean title, owner’s manuals, service records, a tool kit, a spare tire, an air pump, and a car cover.
