Now up for auction is this 1976 Porsche 911S Targa finished in Silver Metallic over a black interior. This Targa was acquired by the current owner in 2008 and features an upgraded 3.2L engine sourced from a 1980s 911 Carrera paired with a 5-speed 915 transmission, as well as RS-style door panels and a vintage Personal steering wheel. The car has also undergone considerable service over the past ten years including an engine and transmission rebuild, new shocks, torsion bars, engine gaskets, and spark plugs as well as a new headliner and upholstery for seats. An ideal air-cooled driver’s car, this 911S Targa has been recently serviced and is now being offered for auction by its longtime owner out of New York.
This 911S comes finished in Silver Metallic (936-9-3) and sports a black Targa band, front fog lights, and 16" Fuchs wheels dressed in a set of new Goodyear Eagle RS-A tires. Some minor imperfections are depicted throughout the exterior as well as a faded finish on the wheels. The seller reports the front-end and fuel tank were recently refinished, detailed images and paint meter readings are provided in the gallery.
Inside, you will find a pair of reupholstered black leather seats along with lightweight RS-style door panels and a vintage Emerson Fittipaldi Personal steering wheel. Other additions include Coco floormats, an aluminum accelerator pedal, and an Alpine Bluetooth stereo paired with upgraded Focal speakers. A new headliner was also fitted for the removable Targa top under the current ownership.
This 911S has been equipped with a larger 3.2L flat-six engine sourced from a later 1980s Carrera model, driving the rear wheels through a later-model alloy 5-speed 915 manual gearbox. Both the engine and transmission are said to have been rebuilt by Stuttgart Auto of Los Angeles, in October of 2012. Other maintenance items addressed around this time include new torsion bars, shock absorbers, heater blower motors, a starter, and an alternator belt. More recent maintenance carried out between 2016-2020 included new intake manifold gaskets, valve cover gaskets, an engine drive belt, and gas cap seal. The most recent service completed in December of 2021 included mounting and balancing four new tires, new valve cover gaskets, front struts, spark plugs, an oil change, and a New York state inspection.
This sale will include a spare tire and a clean title. Offering early G-Body styling along with upgraded power of the Carrera 3.2, this 1976 Targa is just waiting to be driven and enjoyed.

Paint meter readings along with a new video have been added to the listing page.
Seller...the narrative states there are paint meter readings in the gallery. Are there additional pictures other than the 118 listed. I'm not seeing seeing paint meter readings. Thanks.
@Roma thanks for your question. Areas of the car not pictured are similar to what you see - some modest wear from normal use, and minimal rust/corrosion.
There appears to be a bit of rust and corrosion on the vehicle but it doesn’t appear to be excessive. Would the Seller plz comment on any additional rust on the underbody, suspension, wheel wells, etc.
