With its signature roll hoop and wraparound rear glass, the Targa model remains one of the most iconic air-cooled Porsche 911s. This 1976 Porsche 911S Targa was acquired by the current owner in 2024, reportedly from a long-term owner of approximately 30 years. Refinished in Midnight Blue Metallic, this example has received BBS wheels, a MOMO steering wheel, and more. As previously listed on PCARMARKET, this well-presented 911S is now being offered for auction on behalf of the owner out of Quebec.

This 911S was reportedly refinished in Midnight Blue Metallic in 2020. Features include a brushed silver Targa bar, a black removable top, gold anodized Targa bar emblems, dual side mirrors, and a whale tail-style rear wing. A set of polished BBS wheels are mounted with new tires, and the factory Fuchs wheels are said to accompany the sale. The seller describes the paint as being in excellent condition, aside from a small blemish 1-square-inch on the driver-side quarter panel and a very small kink at the top of the passenger door. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.

Inside, the cabin presents black leather upholstery complemented with new carpeting installed in 2020. Equipment includes roll-up windows, a leather-covered dashboard, VDO instrumentation, climate controls, an upgraded Excelon stereo, and an aftermarket MOMO steering wheel. All gauges and accessories are confirmed to be in proper working order.

Power comes from an air-cooled 2.7-liter flat-six engine, delivering up to 165 HP to the rear wheels through a 915 5-speed manual transmission. The seller states that some gaskets were replaced in late 2024, fresh fluids were installed, and a tune-up was performed. A compression test conducted on February 10, 2025, reportedly showed consistent results of 165 PSI ±3 across all cylinders.

This Targa is offered with a Canadian registration.

The seller would like you to know: “1976, the Montreal Olympic Year, is also a great era for Porsche, releasing the 930, baby 912E, and Targa S. Where were you in 1976? Another happy client is in sight with this gorgeous-looking Targa. Sought-after air-cooled 911. Great summer car full of charisma, poise & pizzazz! Not to mention, Zuffenhausen’s symphony. The car comes with spanking new BBS forged wheels, AND original Fuchs are included to satisfy the purists. Bid to WIN!”
