This 1976 Porsche 911S Targa is presented in Polar Silver Metallic over a black interior and features a rebuilt 2.7-liter flat-six engine paired with a 5-speed manual transaxle. Purchased by the seller from its previous owner out of Laguna Beach in 2022, this 911S is now being offered for auction out of California accompanied by a binder of service records dating back over 20 years.
The exterior was refinished in Polar Silver Metallic under prior ownership. It features black trim pieces, a removable black vinyl Targa top, front fog lights, a driver’s side mirror, chrome headlamp bezels, a polished exhaust tip, and 16” Fuchs alloy wheels. The seller notes the tires are approximately 3 years old and the exterior has been treated with a ceramic coating. The black interior includes manually adjustable front bucket seats, folding rear seatbacks, a three-spoke leather steering wheel, manual roll-up windows, VDO gauges, a quartz clock, a heater, and an aftermarket stereo. The seller states the door panels have been refurbished and the gauges are functional, although the tachometer requires a light tap to start working.
Power comes from a fuel-injected 2.7-liter flat-six engine that was rebuilt about 10 years ago. The rear wheels are driven through a 5-speed manual transaxle that was disassembled and fitted with a new 4th gear synchro in 2001. Modifications include a lowered suspension and an upgraded stainless-steel muffler and heat exchangers. The seller notes a small engine oil leak, and that the 3rd gear synchro is temperamental.
