Up for auction is a one-of-a-kind 1976 Porsche 911 S specifically built for the enthusiast driver. This 911 showcases an extensive list of service history along with hand-selected performance upgrades. Spending its life solely in California ensures that this car has never been driven in inclement weather. Accordingly, the current owner purchased this car from a PCA member who has enjoyed, maintained, and pampered this 911 for 22 years prior.
The seller states that the Desert Beige paint is largely original and in great condition. There are minor rock chips from age, but overall this car presents itself in above average condition. Adding to the sporty nature of this 911, it features factory fog lights, sunroof delete and powder coated bronze fuchs 15x7 all around with new tires. The seller notes that upgraded H4 headlights have been installed.
The tan leather interior is stated to be in excellent condition. The only noted flaw is slight tearing in the rear area of the headliner. While sitting in the cockpit you will notice an upgraded MOMO heritage silver spoke steering wheel with Porsche crest. All electronics are stated to be in working order including the power windows, power mirror, and factory Blaupunkt Laguna CD player head unit.
Power comes from a rebuilt 3.0L 1983 911 SC engine that delivers power to the rear wheels via a rebuilt manual transmission. The seller states that there are approximately 45k miles on the engine since the build. An extensive amount of service items and performance enhancements have been done to this 911 ensuring a phenomenal driving experience for the next owner.

I’ve had a couple of questions in regards shipping it overseas. Luckily I have a few years of experience in the export business, so that won’t be an issue.
As far as pricing goes, here are a couple of examples with popular destinations:
1300$ to Rotterdam or Bremerhaven ports, 1500$ to England, 1500$ to UAE, 1700$ to Russia. Within the continental US coast to coast enclosed trailer 1600$.
@epinfren This is a purpose built car. Not any different then any other hotrod build.
All the moving parts were changed, rebuilt or modified on this car, except the chassis. At this point its basically a lightweight narrowbody SC that was set up for canyon runs and track days.
Sc suspension, sc brakes, drilled rotors, bigger torsion bars (22,27 these are even stiffer then the later model Carrera ones), big sway bars, ssi headers, Carrera fender mount oil cooler etc..
Certain people used to look down on mid years because of their leaky under powered mag cased 2.7 engines, which is certainly no longer the case. Same thing was with the 964's before. But things changed and we move forward. One can still consider themselves lucky being able to still buy an aircooled porsche for literally honda civic money.

I owned this car for over 15 years. I believe I was the 3rd owner. Never in any accidents when I owned it. Drove it across country one summer from San Diego to New York after having a valve job . Then headed to Toronto via Boston. Then drove across the Trans Canadian highway to Banf/Jasper area. Close to 10,000 mile trip. Glad I had a bra on the front! Used to have two car seats in the back for my sons. Did all the work on the car myself including dropping the motor (twice) and having my mechanic brother do rebuild. (I wrote all of the handwritten early maintenance entries.) Pictures brought back lots of good memories. I hope the new owner enjoys it as much as I did!
Used to have 60 series Pirellis P6 tires. Handled a lot better than the 70 series.

@probinson1627 it's the original color, 516-9-1 Desert/Sahare beige. The paint is largely original. The paint readings were taken mid listing and pictures were uploaded. Anything under 150 micro meter is original, anything over that is touch up or respray. With 61 measurements taken the average reading was 133 micro meters. Can you edit and update the description @pcarmarket ?

The paint meter is way too high for "original paint". Looks like more than one repaint. Is it really "original" or just original color? What does the long term owner say about repaint?
And what is the RPM at 70mph--7:31 or 8:31 ring and pinion (rear end)?

@gus91326 its titled as a '76. A lot of people are not aware of a lot of things, but that doesn't mean its not possible. It's an option for the new owner.
@Oszkarbacsi what does the title say for year? I’m not aware of how to tell the CA DMV title a car a different year than what the manufacturer describes it.
Met with the seller today. He graciously agreed to let me come by and look at the car. He was very accommodating and helpful with answers to all of my questions. He even took me out for a quick test drive. Very knowledgable and friendly. Highly recommended.

Sellers smog statement is 100% untrue. You can't change the model year of a car with DMV! the engine swap means this will have to go to a BAR smog referee to have any chance of passing legally.

Another thing that I'd like to mention. The car was manufactured in 12/75, therefor it can be registered as a 1975 in the state of California. Which means no more smog. Date of manufacture 1975, model year 1976.
Also to be noted, the wheels are authentic fuchs 15x7 and they're date stamped 1973. Somewhat special.
@87_nicedrop I absolutely agree with you. Mechanically the car is very well sorted. Upcoming maintenance should include resealing the chain housing covers, they're not leaking but they do sweat. And while you in there replace the engine sound pad, as it is the original one and it has seen better days. One of the heater hoses should be replaced as well, the one on the drivers side . Other then that I can't really think of anything else. The suspension is rock solid, shocks and bushings were all replaced. Transmission shifts great, brakes are really good.
