Finished in Desert Beige over tan upholstery, this non-sunroof 1976 Porsche 911S Coupe has been fitted with a 3.0-liter 911 SC engine. It also features an upgraded braking system, enhanced suspension components, updated hydraulic chain tensioners, a Carrera oil cooler, an SSI exhaust with heat exchangers, Turbo valve covers, and much more. Originally a California car, this example was acquired by the current owner approximately 5 years ago via PCARMARKET and is now being offered for auction out of Arizona.

Finished in Desert Beige, this 911S features a sunroof-delete. Other details include chrome headlamp rings, door handles, and window moldings, as well as a body-colored driver’s side mirror, a fender-mounted antenna, and a center tail panel reflector with Porsche lettering. Upgraded H4 headlights have been installed, and the tan-painted 15” Fuchs wheels were fitted with BFGoodrich tires in March 2020. Additionally, the front fog lights have been removed and the front valance has been replaced due to pitting. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.

The cabin features tan vinyl upholstery on the seats, complemented by a matching dashboard and door panels. Upgrades include a wood-rimmed MOMO steering wheel, a wooden shift knob, and tan Coco floor mats. An AUX connector and cable have also been fitted. The seller notes that the seatbelt fastener light is inoperative.

Power comes from a 3.0-liter flat-six engine sourced from a 1983 911 SC, paired with a rebuilt 5-speed 915 manual transmission driving the rear wheels. The engine and transmission were previously rebuilt, while upgrades have included 911SC brakes and a refurbished suspension featuring larger torsion bars, shocks, bushings, and bearings. Other enhancements include drilled rotors, Turbo tie rod ends, a Carrera oil cooler, updated hydraulic chain tensioners, an airbox pop-up valve, a Turbo fan with Turbo valve covers, an SSI exhaust with heat exchangers, and a new clutch cable. The seller adds that approximately $10k in service investments since their acquisition, with no outstanding maintenance needs reported. Some service documentation is included in the gallery.

This sale will include a clean title.

The seller would like you to know: “I was the second highest bidder for this car in a June 2019 Pcarmarket auction.  It took me a couple of months to track it down and purchase it from the high bidder.  Since then, it's been a delight, but my collection of 6 Porsches needs to be trimmed down to make room for a '68 912 that I just purchased. Other than regular maintenance and a few changes, the car is just like it was in the previous auction, other than my addition of approximately 18k miles. The changes include the addition of a new steering wheel, shift knob, Coco mats, AUX cable, enamel-painted wheel crests, front valance, tires, and battery. The deletions include the removal of the air pump, fog lights, pitted front valance, and old AC lines. I have paper copies of the maintenance documents shown in the previous auction, plus several new records which are at the end of this listing. The 3.0 SC engine is a perfect match of just enough, but not too much power for this lightweight narrow body ‘middle.’ The SC brakes and tuned-up suspension make for either an exciting drive or a routine around-town drive. The car is located east of Scottsdale AZ, and I'd be happy to arrange a viewing/inspection. Bid like you want it, and you won't be disappointed.”

The 15X7 Fuchs are the regular kind. I thought they were rare, but had no idea about the rarity of the 1967 R 911's

7” Fuchs are described as rare. (15 inch). Certainly these are not from the rear of a 1967 R 911 with a different offset than regular 7x15 Fuchs?

    TransaxleJoe,
The drive video was taken on a road in NE Phoenix. The pavement is only a couple miles long before it dead ends. I hate to get more specific out of fear that disclosing the location on the internet might create overcrowding.

Wow! What an amazing piece of road! I would love to know where your driving video was filmed?
    Beautiful car too!
Cheers! Im in the Casa Grande area.

    Bidders,
Based on a few recent questions, here is some more information:
    1) As shown by the service records in the 2019 Pcar auction, the car is originally from CA, and is documented to have spent at least the last 20 years in CA, before moving to me in AZ. I have no idea if or how it passed CA emissions.
    2) The car is completely rust free. Porsche began galvanizing the bodies in 1976.
    3) The bright work/chrome is almost as new. No pitting at all.
    4) The wheels are rare Fuchs 15X7.
    5) Although a mild outlaw, I have never tracked it.
    6) Photo 59 shows 3 small tears in the rear headliner, covered with clear tape.
    7) The shirt, hat and Porsche Classic water bottle in photo 78 are included in the sale.
    Thanks for your interest.

    urfealex,
The oil and speedo instruments are just as I found them. Apparently, the smaller steering wheel makes the twisted gauges easier to see. There are a number of similar examples. The good news is that it's a two minute fix, as the gauges simply pull out of their rubber gaskets.

Very nice 911: can you explain the oil and speedometer instrument orientation? it looks as though they are twisted. Thanks.

    WOOPS!
I said I've enjoyed this car for 10 years. In fact it's only been a little over 5 years.
    Sorry.

    What a beauty!

Welcome to my auction of this fun and unique 911. Other than my 10 year enjoyment of the car, my knowledge of its history before my purchase is limited to the Pcar Market auction in 2019 as well as the accompanying documents. To view that auction, log into Pcarmarket.com, and in the search window type "1976 Porsche 911". The scroll down to almost the end of the second page and see its remarkable past.
Although I have 5 other Porsches, I'm new to this process. I will answer all questions to the best of my ability. I am hopeful that someone will end up experiencing the fun of a light weight "middie" with the punch of a 3.0 motor.
