This 1976 Porsche 911 Coupe was imported from Japan, where it was fitted with an upgraded 3.2-liter flat-six engine and a 5-speed Type 915 manual transaxle from a 1986 Carrera. The car has been refinished in its rare factory Talbot Yellow color and features aftermarket cloth sport bucket seats, a Monsoon electronic fuel injection system, upgraded brakes, 928 rear axles, a short shifter, Bilstein shocks, a fiberglass ducktail rear spoiler, and 16” Fuchs alloy wheels. Fortified with a major service in January 2025, including new spark plugs, valve cover gaskets, axle boots, shift linkage, and more, this 3.2-powered 911 is now being offered for auction out of Virginia.
This non-sunroof coupe came factory-finished in Talbot Yellow (106) and was repainted under prior ownership. The exterior features a front chin spoiler, dual black side mirrors, a fender-mounted antenna, window tint, a fiberglass ducktail rear spoiler, slim Euro-spec rear bumperettes, and 16” Fuchs alloy wheels dressed in 205/50 front and 225/50 rear Bridgestone Potenza RE71 tires. The seller notes the rear tires were recently replaced, and a chip is present on the windshield. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The black interior has been fitted with aftermarket cloth bucket seats and features a leather three-spoke steering wheel, a short shifter with a leather gear knob, manual window cranks, an under-dash air conditioning system, and an aftermarket Sony cassette stereo. The seller indicates there is no A/C compressor installed, and the HVAC system and radio are currently inoperable.
Power is sent to the rear wheels from a replacement 3.2-liter flat-six engine and a 5-speed Type 915 manual transaxle sourced from a 1986 Porsche 911 Carrera. The engine has been modified with a Monsoon electronic fuel injection system that retains the factory CDI ignition module. Other modifications include later-model 911 brakes with cross-drilled rotors, 928 rear axles, Bilstein shocks, and an AEM air filter. Service in January 2025 included new valve cover gaskets, spark plugs, axle boots, shift linkage, decklid struts, a new fan shroud, battery, air intake, a resealed oil level sender, and an oil change.
This sale will include a toolkit, a spare tire, and a clean Tennessee title.
The seller would like you to know: “A unique Porsche 911 with a 3.2-liter engine and a 915 transmission makes it super fun to drive. Great handling with the shocks and tire combination. Factory-tech serviced at our shop, ready for the next rally or road trip.”
