The 914 2.0 represents the final iteration of Porsche’s mid-rear engine air-cooled sports car. This 1975 model, presented in Malaga Red over a black interior, pairs a 5-speed manual transmission to its 2.0-liter flat-four. Significant engine enhancements, totaling over $15k, include a dual carburetor setup and other improvements. This 914 is now being offered for auction at no reserve by its seller out of Texas showing just over 98k miles on the odometer.

Refinished in Malaga Red (L30C) with black vinyl sail panels and a removable Targa top, this 914 2.0 is equipped with pop-up headlights, black rubber bumpers, a driver’s-side mirror, and rides on a set of 14” Fuchs wheels wrapped in Ironman GR906 tires. The seller notes the car was resprayed and flaws are visible such as some overspray and paint chipping, as well as sun damage in some areas. Additionally, the driver’s side taillight lens is noted to be cracked. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.

Inside, the cabin presents black upholstery with basketweave pattern door panels, seat centers, and dashboard trim. Additional details include grey carpeting, ventilation controls, a black gear knob, and a black four-spoke steering wheel. The seller notes Bluetooth connectivity has been added. All gauges, electronics, and accessories are stated to function properly, with no warning lights present.

Equipped with a mid-mounted 2.0-liter flat-four engine with a dual carburetor setup, this 914 sends power to its rear wheels by way of a 5-speed manual transaxle and is said to have received over $15k in service under current ownership that included a rebuild of cylinders 1 & 2, a carburetor rebuild, a valve adjustment, a valve cover replacement, a valve cover gasket, replacement of the heads, shifter bushings, front brakes, and a new battery. Additional service records are provided in the gallery.

This sale will include the owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a spare tire, and a clean title.

The seller would like you to know: “Mechanically well-sorted 914 2.0 that runs and drives like a bull and will make for an awesome driver!

Thank yall for the bids! Just wanted to add some notes about this 914 as the auction is in it’s final stretch:
The Bluetooth radio is operated via a new kenwood jam unit with kicker speakers and operates independently from the stock radio in the car and can be controlled with a wired controller in the glove box. A new leather surround for the radio will be provided upon sale. Other notable upgrades taken by the previous ownership include new seats, padded roll bar cover, and carpets.

@needanothercar thank you! The roof does fit snug although the side rubber gaskets that seal to the window will likely need to be replaced. This car has not been driven in the rain under current ownership.

As for the cup holder, those slots are just part of the cup holder itself, unfortunately no 12v in this car.

  • 993luvr (seller) 1 month, 2 weeksago

@opener additional photos have been added to the gallery of the engine including one of the engine number. There does seem to be some rust repair on the left jack point.

Great looking 914! Minor questions, how tight is the roof, it leak during one of Dallas's rains if caught outside?
Photo 84, cup holders seem to have slots in bottom that could appear to be a electrical outlet. Does car have 12 v outlet?
    Look forward to your reply.

  • opener (registered bidder) 1 month, 2 weeksago

Can we get a few more engine photos? Different angles. Possibly the engine number.
Has there been any rust repair other than the battery tray?

Super cool car. I've driven it and it is mechanically great. Cosmetic items are minor, like the seller says. The shop that did all the mechanical work, Mayo, is highly regarded in this community.

There is a small spot of rust on the rear right jack-point. It is shown in photos 129-130 in the gallery. The hell hole was replaced under current ownership and will upload photos of it soon.

  • pvrose (registered bidder) 1 month, 2 weeksago

Are there any rust issues with this car?
Is the battery box/hell hole areas clean?

    Thanks. GLWTA
