Representing one of the latest versions of Porsche’s mid-engine air-cooled sports car, this 1975 Porsche 914 2.0 has been converted to dual Weber carburetors and underwent a host of refurbishment and light customizations over the years. Garage-kept by its original owner before being acquired by the seller, this 914 is now being offered for auction out of California.

The exterior is finished in red and is said to have been repainted in 1998. The car wears new badging, Porsche-logo side stripes, and gold-painted 15” wheels with new Porsche crested center caps. The car rides on a set of Ironman tires dated from 2020, and the original spare wheel remains in the trunk. Other equipment includes late-model safety bumpers with integrated front fog lights as well as a removable black roof panel, pop-up headlamps, a driver’s side mirror, and black vinyl sail panel covers. The seller notes some paint chips and fading from overspray on the exterior. Some wear is also reported on the removable roof panel as well as cracks on the bumpers and slight fitment issues with the lower skirts. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.

The black basketweave leatherette interior features pepita houndstooth seat covers, a new shift knob, new seatbelt sticker, an aftermarket four-spoke Formuling steering wheel, and an upgraded Kicker sound system with Alpine head unit. All gauges and accessories are said to be working properly, although some light bulbs are currently out. The window rollers are described to be finicky and the doors cannot be opened or locked from the outside.

The air-cooled 2.0-liter flat-four engine has been equipped with dual Weber carburetors and an upgraded Magnaflow exhaust. Power is sent to the rear wheels by way of a 5-speed manual transaxle. The seller reports an oil leak as well as issues with engine timing as the car sputters at low under acceleration at low RPM.

This sale will include a clean title.

@BScifers no problem I have work today so I would have to do that when I get back which would be 4:30pm PST. I do not believe I mention it in the description my apologies. The car was stolen back in 1993 I believe, and they ended up getting the car back and had to put a new vin over it. But the car has no salvage or theft title it is all clean. I will also add photos of the jack points of the car, paint code, and windshield code. I could not find the windshield and paint code when I looked but I will double check to find it for you!

@FinnHagar Sorry if I missed this in the description somewhere. What is the story with the vin tag in the driver's side door jamb? It would seem other tags are missing as well (https://www.pelicanparts.com/914/914QA/914Q_chassis_serial_numbers.htm). What's the story with this car? Would you please post additional pictures of the vin at the windshield and close up pick of the paint code plate in the front side of driver's side door jamb? Undercarriage pictures and of the longitudinals/jack points would be helpful as well.
    Thanks in advance!

Hello to all, I hope this vehicle catches your attention and brings you back to that time when you were younger and either had one or knew somebody close that did. This car to me was something I worked on with my father, and brought great memories. All I want is for it to potentially do the same for one of you lucky people out there! There are many of these out there, but this is one of a kind;)
