The year 1974 brought many significant changes to the Porsche 911, including a facelift with impact bumpers, a full-width taillight lens, new seats, and a larger 2.7-liter flat-six engine. This 1975 Porsche 911S is said to have spent time in Kentucky before arriving in Michigan. An excellent candidate for complete restoration or a custom build, this 911S is now being offered for auction.
This non-sunroof coupe comes finished in red and includes a polished driver’s side mirror, chrome window trim, a hood vent, front & rear impact bumpers, and a full-width taillight lens. Aftermarket wheels with red-finished center caps have been added. The seller recommends a complete exterior refinish. Additional images are provided in the gallery.
The cabin presents tan leather upholstery contrasted by a black dashboard, door toppers, and door pockets. Equipment includes a four-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel, VDO instrumentation, and roll-up windows. The cap for the steering wheel is missing and the accelerator pedal is unconnected. Signs of wear are can be seen in the provided images.
The 911S equips a 2.7-liter flat-six engine rated at 165 HP sent to the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual transmission. The seller states the engine was previously rebuilt and is currently inoperable. A full engine rebuild is recommended by the seller.
This sale will include a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “Good clean solid foundation for an engine rebuild or complete car rebuild, the car is from Kentucky.”

@Posrsr motor spins, not locked
Bid in the amount of $9,000
Bid in the amount of $8,700
@Posrsr I believe it to be original motor and transmission
@Posrsr I believe motor spins but I wii verify
@Posrsr I don't know if any mods were done, it came with the 11 blade fan that appears damaged and I believe in 75 they were still using 5 blade, other than the fan I'm not aware of any mods
Sorry. One more question.
Does the motor turn over freely by hand ?
Couple more questions.
Any idea if the typical 2.7 mods were done during the last rebuild ?
Is there any documentation available for the rebuild ?
And lastly, any idea if this is the original motor and trans ?
Thanks.
Thanks for the replies. I’ll be following
@RestoreAndKeep @BiddingIsClosed just the 1 key

Paint is good in some places, problem is car was covered with poly tarp and it smoked the paint of top and parts of hood
@Posrsr I bought the car from son of owner who bought the car needing rebuild, he told me the engine was rebuilt before his dad bought car but had a problem with the heads, I have verified nothing and have not had car looked at by qualified mechanic, this car could be homeroom for right person, I'm representing car needing rebuild because that's how I got it,
@Posrsr no holes in metal, very solid car for someone to build off of
@JKinATX limited information on the previous rebuild,I do have 11 fan that comes with car but it appears to be damaged the shroud Is missing or part of parts boxes that I got when I bought car, very last pic shows fan and some parts
@JKinATX I will get some pics
I’d also like whatever information you have on the previous rebuild.
Also, it looks like a rust hole at the bottom of the DS door jam? Hard to tell for sure from the pic .
Looks like it’ll need a new front pan as well. Is there any other rust damage that’s been covered up during the last respray that you’re aware of? Looks like it could be a sweet little 74 with some love.
Bid in the amount of $8,250
Bid in the amount of $7,911
Also, is there any rust below the battery tray?
So the engine was rebuilt and now needs another rebuild? can you elaborate? I see that the fan shroud and fan are missing. do you have them? And if so, five or 11 blade. Would also like to know if there’s any kind of an oil cooler in the passenger side, front wheel well
