Exclusive to the 1975 model year, the Porsche 911S Silver Anniversary Edition celebrated 25 years of Porsche sports car production as the marque’s first commemorative models. Each was finished in Diamond Silver Metallic over unique leatherette and tweed upholstery with additional distinguishing details. This 911S Coupe Silver Anniversary is designated #427 of 1,063 examples produced, of which only 504 were reportedly brought to the United States. Originally acquired on November 28, 1975, it remained with the first owner in Illinois before being passed on to their son, and later to the current owner in April 2023. Showing under 168k miles, this rare example is now being offered for auction out of California.
As a Silver Anniversary Edition, this 911S is finished in special Diamond Silver Metallic paint. Equipment includes impact bumpers, halogen headlamps, lower front fog lights, chrome trim, a driver’s side mirror, pop-out rear quarter windows, a sunroof delete, and a polished rear exhaust outlet. It rides on 15” Fuchs wheels dressed in Michelin XWX tires. The seller notes some chips on the passenger door, along with a small imperfection on the door’s leading edge. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
Inside, the cabin is outfitted with distinctive black leatherette and tweed upholstery. Edition-specific elements also include a Carrera-derived three-spoke steering wheel and a numbered plaque on the passenger side of the dashboard. The seller reports having reupholstered the front seats in the correct OEM fabric, as well as removing the air conditioning pump.
Power comes from an air-cooled 2.7-liter flat-six engine featuring Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection. The rear wheels are driven through a 5-speed manual transmission. The seller reports some smoke and oil leaks from the engine and recommends performing an engine rebuild.
This sale will include a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “The car, for its age, is in excellent condition. I purchased it knowing that an engine rebuild was imminent, which did not bother me. I have other cars and builds to do, so I'm forgoing this project. This is a Silver Edition, making this Porsche very desirable. The front seats have been reupholstered in the Silver Edition OEM fabric.”

What is the age of the tires and battery?
Bid in the amount of $1,975
Is it currently running?
@area901 image 74 shows pressure fed chain tensioners so we know some work has been done.
There is no mention of available service records and/or history of any major of semi-major engine work in the listing. As a long time 2.7 owner I find it terribly hard to believe that this car has logged 168,xxx miles without some sort of overhaul or upgrades. I can see that the tensioners seem to have been done...when was the car last painted? Are there invoices for that?
- great narrow body 2.7

Seller: does the car have any rustle areas? What would you say is condition or appearance of the paint? No sunroof, correct? Thank you!

Welcome to my auction, should you have any questions please feel free to ask. This is a 1 owner car and for it's age it is in prime condition!
Engine runs strong but needs a valve job.
@TBKTX Thanks for your inquiry.
Engine runs strong, but I feel it needs a valve job as it smokes a little. l have purchased some hoses for replacement that comes with the car. The oil return hose to the tank might need replacement, I did not purchase this particular hose. Front seats were rebuild with correct material , cost $2600.
So you are saying that an engine rebuild is needed upon acquiring ?
