Available for auction is a 1975 Porsche 911 Type 911/83 2.7L MFI engine. The seller states the engine was originally made for an ROW 1975 Porsche Carrera 2.7L. The flat six engine underwent a top-end rebuild in 2020 and the seller states the engine is in great condition. The top-end rebuild was done by Eason Auto Works of Oakland, California with work including piston ring replacement, machining the cylinder head, rebuilt camshafts and rocker arms, timing chain, and gaskets. Numerous components of the engine were plated or powder coated.

The engine is equipped with an air filter housing, shroud and cooler fan, Bosch mechanical fuel injection which incorporates a “019” pump that was overhauled in 2020, a distributor, Porsche branded calve covers, engine tin, and heat exchangers. The 911/83 flat-six utilizes a 90mm bore and a 70.4mm stroke for a total displacement of 2,687cc and an output of approximately 210 horsepower.

The magnesium crankcase provides approximately 20lbs of weight savings over an aluminum case and features two valves per cylinder, dry sump lubrication, and overhead cam shafts. The seller states the engine has had approximately 1k miles added since the work has been completed.

The engine’s serial number 6650646 is stamped on the engine case which corresponds to a type 911/83 flat-six produced for an RoW 1975 911 Carrera 2.7. Final hours here, just wanted to reiterate some common questions:
    - Entire top end was done in 2020, $20k receipt in gallery
    - Engine compression was tested at 175 all around
    - Engine leak down is 2-3% all around
    - MFI pump was rebuilt in 2019
    - Engine is located in the Bay Area, and is on a pallet ready to be shipped anywhere

If anyone has any other questions please feel free to reach out, thanks all!

Yes, the pump is what came with the engine when the owner purchased it, and was re stamped by Gus at Pacific Fuel injection after it was rebuilt to RS specs.

Looks like a restamped number on the pump. Any chance you know the story on it?

Hi everyone, welcome to the auction.

PCM has done a great job with the description of the engine, and I’ve included an extensive gallery alongside paperwork to ensure the next owner of the engine knows what they are getting. I’ve also got a few videos of the engine when it was installed in one of the owners’ 911’s for a short period of time while the engine in that car was being rebuilt. It went through a proper break in period, and was then removed and placed aside for whatever project the owner decided on. Some plans have changed, and so the decision to list the engine was made.

The engine runs exceptionally well, and was built by a reputable local shop as stated in the listing. Eason has done years of work for the owner and myself, and is well versed in high-end engine rebuilds. I personally would trust him with any air-cooled engine/trans work, but anyone is welcomed to reach out to either of us with further questions if they have any.

The engine comes with everything displayed in the photos, and is ready to put into your 73RS or 75 Carrera, or even a hotrod or race car of your choice. All of the heavy lifting and big expenses are done.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me directly. Thanks all!
