This 1975 Porsche 911 Targa has been transformed into a one-of-a-kind electric vehicle by North American EV with a comprehensive restoration that includes custom backdated bodywork and a Bamboo finish from Volkswagen’s color palette. Its classic long-hood styling is enhanced by RS-style fender flares, 16” BBS-style wheels, and a reimagined interior featuring black upholstery with tan diamond-quilted inserts, green accent stitching, Corbeau sport seats, and an iPhone-based digital gauge display. The drivetrain has been replaced with a 636-horsepower Tesla Model S Performance drive unit, supported by a 16kWh battery system, an Elcon 6.6kW charger, and an Orion Battery Management System. This fully electric 911 Targa is now being offered for auction out of British Columbia.
As part of its comprehensive nut-and-bolt restoration, the exterior of this Targa was stripped to bare metal and refinished in a Volkswagen Bamboo base coat with a clear coat. It features a long-hood body conversion complemented by RS-style fender flares, backdated bumpers, and staggered-width 16” BBS-style wheels wrapped in like-new tires. Additional details include burnt orange Targa top upholstery, matching “PORSCHE” side lettering with black stripes, a brushed silver Targa bar, chrome trim, a bullet-style driver’s side mirror, and a distinctive rear decklid grille. Minor paint imperfections are noted on the fender flares, detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The cabin features black upholstery accented by tan diamond-quilted Alcantara on the seats and door panels. Highlights include green deviated stitching along the seat edges and black dashboard pad, bespoke dashboard trim with green accents, a tan Alcantara-wrapped MOMO Prototipo steering wheel, RS-style door pulls, and an iPhone integrated as the dashboard instrumentation. Black carpeting lines the front of the cabin, while tan carpeting is fitted in the rear.
The car's engine, transmission, fuel tank, and oil system have been replaced with a 636-horsepower Tesla Model S Performance rear drive unit, powered by a 16kWh battery system distributed between the front and rear. The electric drivetrain features an Orion Lithium-Ion Battery Management System (BMS), an Elcon 6.6kW charger, and J1772 Level 2 charging capability. The seller reports no outstanding maintenance items.
This sale will include a Canadian registration.

@Gnetti2 factory targa top recovered in marine vinyl
Bid in the amount of $20,250
Awesome creation! Quick question: Is the targa top a standard Porsche unit that was recovered or is it an aftermarket one that folds up to be placed in the car somewhere? Thanks and GLWTS.
I just dug through all of the pictures. Below are my questions.
• Pic 44, there is a black mark (photo edited) at the corner of the fender. Why?
• Pic 48, shows no wipers. Is the equipment still there? Do you still have to wipers? I expect I’d need that if I was going to try to register it in the USA.
• Pic 57, it looks like there is a chunk of weather stripping missing at the corner of the targe? Is this real?
• Pic 59 & 71, why is the hinge pin not fully installed?
• Pic 65, those whole on the floor shown in these pics. Do any of them go straight through to the ground? Meaning if driven in the rain, water would come through.
• How long does it take the iphone to load up before you can drive? Does it automatically load or does it have to be manually powered on and you need to click and app or something?
• Pic 67, what is the bolt looking thing to the bottom right of the iphone?
• Do that parking brake and blinkers still work?
• Any regen braking setup?
• Are there any rear seat belts?
• Pic 88, is there room for more batteries?
@Pjku79 @AlanLowenthal15
I just realized there was a comment below saying 1.5 hours at 40-60 mph. That means at best, 90 mi. I am guessing that is steady state, so maybe you can expect 50 miles if driving spirited.
@AlanLowenthal I had this exact same thought. A 16 kWh battery is very very very small. The for example, the smallest 1st gen Model S battery was 40 kWh. This resulted in ~200 mi of range (on standard drive cycles, likely FTP+HwFET). This means on real world driving, it would likely be worse.
That being said, I'd expect this vehicle to be much lighter which would increase the range. If I had to guess, I think you'd be lucky to get 75 mi range on real world driving.
why?????
What is the driving range on full charge? When charged to 80%? Thank you.

@raharg0 see below for some of those answers. Batteries and motor are not new. Floor pan is lower than the motor. Our roads are currently covers in sand and rocks and snow. 🇨🇦
Are the motor and batteries new, 300 miles? If not, what is the age and mileage to date? Is a skid plate suggested for the motor? Driving video would be nice. I know the weather may be prohibitive, but this is a unique car and seeing it operate would be helpful. Watching closely.
@raharg0 yes absolutely….and thanks!
Does your company help arrange transport and customs services for a US buyer? Love the build.
nope
@420Time however only a small number of values would be relevant
@420Time yes this can be done
Would of been a nice touch if the stock gauges were installed and functioning.

@420Time burns tires like nothing else.

@Snowcone yes 16kwh. 1.5 hrs at 40-60mph of normal driving.
@NAEV, I assume there are six LG Chem batteries to equal 16Kwh. So when you say 1.5 hours range based on what speed? I guess I should have asked how many miles or kilometers per full charge based on normal driving.
Thanks again,
Bid in the amount of $1,250
@Snowcone wiper motor is in place and working
@Snowcone lg chem batteries, 1.5 hrs range, requires iphone
@NAEV, Sorry, forgot to also ask if the wiper motor is present and working if wiper blades were installed?
@NAEV What battery system is in this? What kind of range are you getting?
Also, can you drive the car without a phone or ipad connected to it?
Thanks,
@gwistrup yes scary fast. Almost perfect 50/50 weight distribution. About 2200 lbs
I bet it is blindingly fast. How much does it weigh? Do you have corner balance figures?
@skier1 yes it is in Oliver BC. Absolutely you can come see it. Send us an email or pm to arrange.
@Montsd thanks. It is!
Great looking resto! Where is your company located?
The car is now in Oliver, BC? Can we arrange a viewing?
Lets get a driving video and with some acceleration
I love that it’s converted to electric. I have a similar wide body 1975 that I absolutely love the look of, but it’s like driving a VW beetle. Bet this car is a lot of fun to drive!
@kimaccounting 1.5 hrs
