Finished in Blue over a tan interior, this 1975 MG MGB was assembled by the seller about 15 years ago with the intent of creating a “street-legal race car.” This MG was built using a new custom-painted British Heritage body and features a rebuilt 1.8-liter inline-four engine upgraded with a Weber DCOE carburetor, a Fast Road Performance camshaft, and a high-flow exhaust system. The car also features a lightweight interior with a custom dashboard, a wood steering wheel, a roll bar, front coilover suspension, updated rear tube shocks, and 15” chrome wire wheels. Refurbished and modified to maximize road-going performance, this MGB is now being offered for auction out of New York.

This MGB’s original bodywork was replaced with a new British Heritage body painted in a custom shade of blue. It features chrome bumpers and trim, a black roll bar, and 15” chrome wire wheels dressed in Continental 195/65 tires. The seller notes the trunk lid was previously refinished to address a minor damage. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.

The cabin has been stripped of carpeting for weight savings and features tan leather seats, black door panels, a custom silver-painted dashboard, black rubber floor mats, lap belts, a wood three-spoke steering wheel, and a black leather MG-branded gear knob. The seller notes the heater has been removed to reduce weight.

The car’s 1.8-liter inline-four engine was rebuilt and fitted with a Fast Road Performance camshaft, a new distributor, a Weber DCOE carburetor, and a high-flow exhaust system. The rear wheels are driven through a 4-speed manual transmission. Performance features include front disc brakes, front coilover suspension, and updated rear tube shocks.

This sale will include a clean title.

The seller would like you to know: “Thank you for visiting my auction. I created this car about 15 years ago to my employer's (at the time) specifications. He wanted a "street legal race car" He purchased a New British Heritage Body and had a custom paint job done to all parts. The engine was completely rebuilt. The suspension was modified to performance specs. Only essential parts were installed in the interior to save weight. It is the fastest MGB I have ever driven. Unfortunately, he passed away recently, and I was given the car to sell. As far as I can tell the car was never registered. Always stored inside.”

I can personally vouch for the seller of this MGB. He is a Renaissance man. Mechanic, restorer, Rally Master, etc. He has maintained my 1967 MGB for 18 years. As only the second owner of my carI would trust no one else to care for her. Bid with confidence on his quality of work. He knows MG’s like you know your phone number. This is an unsolicited voucher, by the way. Good luck to the new owner!
