Beginning life as a 1974 Porsche 911 Coupe, this example was transformed under previous ownership into a race car featuring 935-style bodywork, carbon fiber doors, a Crawford rear wing with a Gurney flap, and extensive air-cooling ducts. Acquired by the current seller in 2005, it received a twin-plug 3.6-liter flat-six engine rebuilt by the specialists at Dawe’s Motorsports of Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, in September 2023. Key features include a sought-after G50 five-speed manual transaxle, a limited-slip differential, 930-style rear axles, 935-style control arms, Bilstein coilovers, 930-style trailing arms and disc brakes, a fuel cell, 17″ Kinesis wheels, and 935-style front bodywork. The interior boasts a full roll cage, a fire suppression system, a fiberglass OMP racing seat, a FAST Cool Suit system, a drink bottle system, a carbon-fiber dash panel, a MYLAPS/AMB transponder, and MoTeC engine management with an ADL Dash Logger. In 2023, additional services included the installation of a replacement oil pump and fuel cell pickups, as well as servicing the rear axles before the car's last race in October. Finished in blue with silver and yellow race livery, this 911 race car is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Pennsylvania, accompanied by a vehicle logbook, service records, and more.

This example comes finished in blue adorned with silver and yellow race livery. The bodywork showcases a 930-style design, 935-style Slant Nose front hood and fenders, fiberglass fender flares, and lightweight carbon fiber doors. Enhancing the race-oriented aesthetic are a whale tail rear spoiler, an imposing Crawford rear wing with a Gurney flap and integrated air intakes, as well as air vents integrated within the front and rear fenders and rear wing. Additional race equipment comprises carbon fiber fender vents, front and rear tow hooks, hood pins, a cowl-mounted cutoff switch, plexiglass side and rear windows, and roof- and tail-mounted camera-mounts. Red-painted brake calipers are visible beneath the 17” Kinesis wheels, which are wrapped in 275/40 front and 315/35 rear Hoosier R7 DOT tires. An extra set of Kinesis BBS-style wheels and new Hoosier R7 tires are included in the sale. The seller highlights the vehicle's dry curb weight totals 2,025 lbs.

Inside, the driver is situated within a fiberglass OMP racing seat equipped with a Sparco racing harness, surrounded by a roll cage padded on the driver’s side and fitted with a RaceQuip net. The setup includes a fire suppression system, FAST Cool Suit system, helmet blower, drink bottle system, Motorola programmable race radio, Tilton pedals, and a camera mount affixed to the roll cage. The quick-release MOMO steering wheel frames a carbon fiber dashboard panel, featuring a MoTeC engine management system with an ADL Dash Logger that replaces the factory instrumentation.

At the heart of this race car is a twin-plug 3.6-liter flat-six engine rebuilt by Dawe’s Motorsports in September 2023. This engine features Elite Engine cylinder heads, reportedly Nikasil-plated by Millennium Technologies, as well as JE pistons and Dougherty Racing camshafts. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a 5-speed G50 manual transaxle equipped with steel synchros and a limited-slip differential. Additional equipment includes a Porsche Motorsport selector shaft and clutch assembly, a Tilton triple-disc clutch, and a lightweight flywheel. The suspension system boasts 935-style control arms, 930-style rear trailing arms, Porsche Motorsport front and rear sway bars, and Bilstein coilovers with ProTrac adjustable cylinders at all four corners. Additionally, a custom-built exhaust system by JPC Fabrication has been fitted. Stopping power is provided by 930-style disc brakes. The seller adds that the 930-style rear axles were cleaned and packed with high-temperature grease in 2023, and a fuel cell is mounted in the front trunk, with the pickups replaced in 2023. A host of recent invoices is provided in the gallery.

This sale will include an extra set of Kinesis BBS-style wheels, new Hoosier R7 tires, PCA logbooks, an AMB/MyLaps Red wired transponder, MoTeC engine management, FAST cool suit with helmet blower, a drink bottle, video mounts, a Motorola programmable radio, and a bill of sale.

The seller would like you to know: “This vintage car is ready to race!  It is extremely fast due to its power-to-weight ratio, brand-new engine, and numerous motorsport components. The G50 transmission is rare and highly sought after.  I have developed and raced this car since 2005 with only 3 races since 2010 and only 1 since the engine rebuild in 2023.”

I am assuming the livery is a wrap? The blue is paint? Thank you.

Ok racer friends, let's rev it up on this Friday!! What questions do you have for me?

Here are a couple more tidbits about this car not in the listing:
Being a Dawe's Motorsports build means it has some special features, including titanium valve retainers and Porsche Motorsport springs. And speaking of revs, the Tilton triple disc clutch and lightweight flywheel allows this engine to spin up to its 8000 RPM red line in next to no time!

How many hours on the engine since the rebuild in 9/23?

Good morning PCM folks! Here is a little more detail not listed in the copy above...

    * The engine has 6 break-in/dyno hours and only 5 race hours: The hours meter was not reset prior to the engine rebuild and read 9 hours; thus the 20 showing is wrong. After dyno time, they painted “15” on it last October (see pic in gallery)
    * Unfortunately I do not have a dyno sheet as they replaced the dyno right afterwards. I do have a link to a video of it on FB, PM me if interested. Dyno tech said 340 RWHP on Mustang dyno @ 7800 RPM. Note that Mustang dynos are usually quite conservative in their readings.
