Manufactured by the Triumph Motor Company in England from 1968 to 1976, the TR6 represents the culmination of the TR series, offering a blend of classic British sports car design and an immersive driving experience. Powered by a 2.5-liter inline-six engine featuring Zenith-Stromberg dual carburetors and paired with a 4-speed manual transmission, this1974 example is finished in red over a black interior and features a removable hard top, 15″ steel wheels, a cabin heater, an AM/FM radio, and more. This TR6 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Canada.
The TR6 showcases classic body-on-frame construction with coachwork crafted by Karmann of Germany. Originally finished in Pimento, this example was later repainted red by a previous owner. It features a body-color removable hardtop, chrome bumpers with rubber overriders, Union Jack decals on the rear quarters, and a driver-side mirror. It rides on silver-finished 15” steel wheels adorned with aluminum trim rings and wrapped in Coker Classic red-line tires. The seller notes areas of rust on the wheels and rear corners of the trunk lid above the taillights; detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The interior showcases black vinyl upholstery paired with matching carpeting and a woodgrain dashboard and shift knob. It also features a brown leather-wrapped three-spoke steering wheel, Smiths analog gauges, a Mitsubishi-sourced push-button AM/FM radio, a locking glovebox, and climate controls for heating and ventilation. Auxiliary gauges in the center stack monitor coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and battery voltage. The seller notes pitting on the steering wheel spokes and cracks in the glovebox door wood finish but confirms all gauges and electronics are working properly, without any warning lights illuminated.
A 2.5-liter inline six-cylinder engine with Zenith-Stromberg dual carburetors delivers power to the rear wheels via a 4-speed manual transmission. The TR6 features four-wheel independent suspension with aluminum semi-trailing arms at the rear, rack and pinion steering, and front disc and rear drum brakes for effective braking. Additionally, it has been upgraded with a Crane Cams FireBall PS91 ignition coil.
This sale will include a black soft top and a clean title.
