Up for auction is this classic 1974 Porsche 914 2.0 presented in the “Creamsicle Tribute” finish of Ivory with Orange accents. Jointly designed, manufactured and marketed by Volkswagen and Porsche from 1969-76, the 914 is a spritely mid-engine sports car that is both fun to drive and easy to own. Having undergone a recent full service which included suspension and brake upgrades, this solid 1974 example is accompanied by over $20k in maintenance invoices. Highlighting some tasteful performance upgrades, this 914 2.0 is now being offered for auction in excellent running order showing approximately 85k well documented miles on the odometer.
This 914 is stated to have been previously refinished in its factory original color of Ivory with contrasting details in orange. The seller notes the exterior finish to remain in good condition for its age with a few small blemishes and some minor signs of rust. Detailed images are provided in the photo gallery. A professional application of undercoating was implemented along with the replacement of the front 1/2 pan in 2019. Noteworthy details include an LE trim front spoiler, fog lights and removable targa top as well as an aftermarket fiberglass rear trunk lid with a custom raised spoiler. This 914 rides on a set of orange painted Mahle wheels which are currently dressed in Yokohama tires.
Inside, this 914 features a modified black interior with a center console delete and added gauges. A 5-point safety harness has been installed for the driver’s seat with a 2-point lap belt on the passenger side. The seller notes that there is no air conditioning or radio, however all other gauges, accessories and electrical components remain fully functional.
Representing one of Porsche’s earliest mid-engine designs, this 914 carries an air-cooled 2.0 L flat-four engine which sends approximately 95 HP to the rear wheels by way of a number’s matching 5-speed manual transmission. Weighing in at just over 2100 lbs., the 914 is coveted for its lightweight agility and visceral driving characteristics. Performance modifications include a full coilover suspension, 911 front struts, upgraded sway bars, 944 brake kit and a dual-outlet sport exhaust system. In 2015, this engine was rebuilt using new rings, pistons, rod bearings, valve liners, and rocker adjusters. More recently, engine was serviced and tuned by a prominent air-cooled specialist in Delaware. During this time, the ignition points and timing were adjusted, the fuel bowls were cleaned, both carburetors were replaced, and a compression test was conducted. Up to date on all scheduled maintenance, this 914 is being offered for auction with a clean bill of health.
The sale of this solid 914 will include a set of two keys, and a collection of service records. Do not miss your chance to get behind the wheel of this nicely presented Porsche 914 2.0.

Hi
a very beautiful car, can you arrange shipping to San Francisco?
Beautiful car! Can you verify if the Porsche lower side decals are present or removed? It’s shown in one photo, but absent in others. The upgraded 5 point harness is nice for the driver, but why make the car less safe for the passenger with only a lap belt? Why not just retain the original 3 point for the passenger? Is the wiring still in place for a radio to be added or has it been completely removed? Are the heater boxes still in place & defrost/blower operational? Thanks & GLWTA!
@wthode The car is located in Wilmington Delaware. Shipping can be arranged as well as storage. I have a few cars registered in Montana. No sales tax and permanent registration is available.

Where is the car? It carries Montana plates in the photos, but you’re shown as in Delaware. I’m in Idaho and would be more interested in the car if it were in Montana.
Bid in the amount of $5,000
@ptkacik I had noticed that as well when I purchased it. I do believe it is through the front of that point or nearly through, not around the back side. There is not rust there and it has not changed in the two years and 1000miles I drove (aggressively).
A few ways the new owner could address that depending on their time or money they wanted to spend.
I felt more comfortable letting it go when now changes and always did the work suggested by the professionals I used.
Please let me know if other questions.
Thanks!
Picture 98 shows the RR wheel pickup point under the battery. Is that fracture all of the way through the frame? Please clarify.
@993ist The COA (now called Porsche production specification document ) lists it as light Ivory /B8 color. The orange was added later. The ivory is still a matching same color as original. (Trying to explain not sure how good a job I am doing). I do not believe / can not document it was an original LE but the ivory b8 color is original. Please let me know if that helps. :-)
"This 914 is stated to have been previously refinished in its factory original color of Ivory with contrasting details in orange." -- can you clarify what is being communicated here? No 914s left the factory in ivory/orange other than LEs.
