Finished in Bahia Red over a Black interior, this 1974 Porsche 914 1.8 is said to have been cared for by its original owner up until 2016 at approximately 13,500 reportedly original miles. Under new ownership, it received new bumpers and side skirts, Koni sport shocks, Euro-style lights, a Bursch muffler, a MOMO steering wheel, a RennShift Performance shifter, and a mechanical overhaul with a new clutch, flywheel, rear brakes, and more. Accompanied by service invoices totaling over $16k, this 914 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of California showing just under 17k miles on its 5-digit odometer.
This 914 is presented in its original Bahia Red (L30E) color and has been fitted with pre-1973 bumpers and side skirts, Euro-style front marker lights, and Porsche logo side stripes. Other equipment includes a removable black Targa top, vinyl-covered sail panels, pop-up headlamps, fog lights, and black-painted 15” wheels. The seller describes the exterior to be in excellent condition and notes that new Targa top seals have been installed. Additional images are provided in the gallery.
The Black vinyl interior has been fitted with a three-spoke MOMO Prototipo steering wheel and a RennShift Performance shifter. Apart from the wheel and shifter, the seller describes the cabin to be highly original and in excellent condition with all gauges and accessories working properly apart from the air conditioning system which has been removed. The seller indicates the mileage shown on the odometer is accurate.
A fuel-injected 1.8-liter flat-four engine sends power to the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual transaxle. Service is said to include the replacement of the heater blower, hoses, and flaps, header pipes, clutch kit, flywheel, fuel sending unit, voltage regulator, a rebuilt alternator, a new brake master, rear calipers, and rear brake pads. The car has also been upgraded with Koni shocks and a Bursch muffler.
This sale will include owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a spare tire, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “You will look long and hard to find a finer and extremely example of this exceptionally clean and increasingly collectible and desirable last year 1974 Porsche 914 1.8L Targa with desirable pre-1973 look and upgrades and a 5-speed manual transmission available anywhere else!”
