This 1974 Porsche 911 Coupe underwent custom restoration under prior ownership including widened RS/IROC-style bodywork, a new interior, and an upgraded 2.7-liter engine. Said to have been driven less than 200 miles since, this 911 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of California.
This 911 has been fitted with wide fiberglass fender flares along with an IROC-style front bumper, RS-style ducktail rear spoiler, and modern projector headlights. The car is said to have been recently refinished in the current shade of White and rides on a set of upgraded 17” Fuchs wheels dressed in Toyo Proxes tires. Additional images are provided in the gallery.
The grey interior has been redone and customized with a pair of two-tone Porsche 997 power seats and matching RS-style door panels. The rear seats have been replaced with storage compartments and custom white instrument dials have been installed along with a three-spoke MOMO steering wheel, Kenwood radio, drilled aluminum pedal covers, and a billet shift knob. The seller reports all gauges and accessories to be fully functional.
Power comes from an air-cooled 2.7-liter flat-six engine that is said to have been custom-built to RS specifications under prior ownership. The rear wheels are driven by way of a 5-speed 915 manual gearbox with a new clutch and short shift kit. Other upgrades include PMO carburetors, Elephant Racing oil lines, a front-mounted oil cooler, and red-painted Porsche Boxster brakes with new floating rotors.
This sale will include a clean title.

I had the same questions as others. Underbody images (the 74 is not galvanized). Detailed engine build sheet. Detailed suspension build sheet. Without these could not bid.
@Speedster57 I'm new to these auctions, was the reserve met? If not, what is the procedure here?

@Speedster57 doesn't help at all, engine number is important to see what case was used etc.

@Speedster57 That would have made a lot more sense.
@NineThirty That’s correct I don’t know why they didn’t shut it before they put the brace on thanks for your concern
@Speedster57 Why is the smugglers box open? Is it only because the strut brace is preventing it from closing?

@CLEARWATERMS thanks for your concerns about my car there is no rust whatsoever the engine is up to specs for a 2.7 RS unfortunately I don’t have any paperwork on that when I got the car it was in a crate wrapped up I just believe the mechanic that it was completely redone the suspension the best of my knowledge is set up for racing again the mechanic took all that information on the car and took off to Florida I wish I could help you more on those specs but the car runs like a dream and it is fast and it has less than 200 miles on it there is a photo of the gas tank which is brand new I hope this helps you with some of your questions keep in touch
floating rotors are more commonly called 2 piece rotors. Race car stuff, the hub and braking surface are seperate pieces and the rotor "ring" can be replaced seperate from the hub. Because the hub section can be made of a lighter metal they reduce unsprung mass and allow for better thermal management. The Boxster brake calipers are fixed position calipers.
I have a few questions; What is done to the motor? It doesn't appear to twin plug so i'm guessing its not high compression, does it have stock cams, is it still 2.7 liters of displacement? What is the exhaust configuration? It appears to have heat tins on the top so i'm assuming they are not headers
How is the suspension setup?
Is there any rust? Can we get some photos of the front of the trunk around the gas tank and some underbody photos as well?
@SkyPilot The back should 245s the funds are 225
@550bryan learn something every day, I knew about floating calipers but I have never had a car with floating rotors.
@Speedster57 No Worry and Thanks!! Can you post the Tire sizes Front and Rear?? That's would be a great bit of Data!!
@SkyPilot The mechanic that worked on my car took off and went to Florida with a lot of my paperwork with him so I can’t really help you like I said the wheels I got from Canada and they’re beautiful
@Speedster57 Hey Speedster57,
Oh, I am a stinker for getting ideas from others work and no better place than this Porsche!!
HELP ME!!!
@Speedster57 Hey Speedster57,
Got it and Thanks!! So, I am in the process of building a very similar Porsche. I went to Luft 8 In LA last month to get some ideas on the build. The scenery was off the charts.. The problem was, everyone was off looking around at all the other Porsche's!! Based on that, I didn't get much information!! I would like to duplicate the exact wheels you have on this build!! That said, can you share with us what the mechanics name is and what shop he is at!! You guys in CA have numerous resources to lean on!! Some good hard data would be appreciated!! I am sure there are others who would like to know as well!!
Thanks and Cheers,
SkyPilot
@SkyPilot Did you get my reply
@550bryan You don’t float caliper
@Lottacars The car has been completely restored in the last four years the engine and body was four years ago the mechanic is now in Florida who did the work on it he left California two years ago he left without telling me and took most of the receipts with him if you need to I can try to find where he’s at and give you his phone number thanks for your reply
@SkyPilot I just went to a Porsche mechanic and he told me there was spacers front and back like I said those rims were from Canada and they do look beautiful I hope I answered all your questions
@Ranger3 It was never a sunroof sorry I thought it was
Great looking tribute, but for better braking performance I hope it has floating calipers, not floating rotors. GLWTS
To seller: how long have you owned it? When was body and engine work done and by what company? Can you post invoices for the work?
Was this a factory sunroof delete car or is it a patch job?
Thanks
Hey Speedster57,
The wheels on this Porsche are simple awesome! Can you please share the manufacture along with the widths (front and rear) to include the offsets and backspacing? Again, they look great on this white Porsche!!! A posting of the invoice with that information would be GREAT!! I'll be watching this one like a hawk!!
Can we assume there are no spacers on either the front or the rear axles?? Agree as noted "Love this"!!
Thanks,
SkyPilot
Love this!
