We are pleased to present this incredible 1974 Porsche 911 Carrera 2.7 Tribute finished in Mexico Blue.  Having been owned by Porsche racing legend and team owner Bruce Leven, this 2.7 boasts top-tier upgrades and exciting customizations that make it one of the most unique tribute builds on the market.  Leven's best season in racing was 1987, when his team earned six wins, with drivers Jochen Mass and Bobby Rahal finishing third and fifth in the IMSA Championship.  This stunning 911 shows 11,716 miles on its five-digit odometer and is now being offered for auction in excellent, fully restored condition by its seller in Georgia.

Refinished in its original Porsche COA verified color of Mexico blue during its restoration around 2006, this Carrera is surely a head turner.  The seller states that the paint remains in exceptional condition and looks as if it were kept in a climate controlled environment its entire life.  Exterior features include: an iconic duck tail spoiler, Carrera trim package, and Euro-spec headlights and accessories (the original US spec headlights will be included in the sale).  This 911 rides on gorgeous Fuchs wheels which come wrapped in new Dunlop tires.

Inside, this 911 sports a clean black leatherette interior that highlights power windows, a power sunroof, a new OEM dashboard, rebuilt tachometer and Carrera RS door panels.  Other features include: Rennline dash knobs, a Momo Prototipo steering wheel, a new Bluetooth stereo with front speakers and Carrera script floor mats.  The seller has confirmed that all gauges, electronics and accessories are fully functional and that the original steering wheel, door panels and radio will be included as part of the sale.

This 911 carries its original 2.7 L flat-six engine that has been equipped with performance headers and an upgraded exhaust.  Power is delivered to the rear wheels by way of a smooth 5-speed manual transmission with all-new shift linkage and bushings.  As a fully restored vehicle, all of the internals have been completely gone through and the engine has been rebuilt approximately 13 years ago along with the braking system, clutch, and suspension.  Receipts will be provided with the sale.  This 911 is said to run and drive beautifully.  This makes the perfect car for the air-cooled enthusiast who demands both reliability and a nostalgic driving experience.

The sale of this superb 1974 911 will include two sets of keys, certificate of authenticity, original owner’s books, and extensive records of the vehicle's restoration and engine rebuild totaling approximately $24k.

The sale will also include a bundle of factory components.  This vehicle is accompanied by a clear title and stands ready for prompt delivery to a new owner.  An absolute stunner in every sense of the word, this Tribute commands attention wherever it goes.

I was watching this on eBay just recently, do you have a contact or can you send me a private message?

  • mulsanne79 (seller) 4 years, 11 monthsago

@JCon @Jconsidine Please message me privately for the address. I can not message you. The system does not allow for it. Do not know the current hp, and also do not know about the valve guide & head stud upgrade. I will look at all the paperwork tomorrow when I am in the garage and see if I can figure it out from the parts list. No rust to my best observation. I tried to take pictures of everything that I could get to. Will work on the driving video tomorrow.

Hi. Beautiful car. Couple quick questions.
1- where are you located in Ga. I may like to swing by and inspect prior to auction ending. (Perhaps you could reach out to my email outside of this thread to set up?)
2- power on a base 74’ 911 from factory was 150. Any idea on current horsepower ?
3- I assume the valve guides and head studs were upgraded during the engine rebuild?
4- any rust not shown in pics ?
5- do you have a driving video of car that could be uploaded or sent?

    Thank you.......GLWTA

@Lacmotors I have an immense stack of receipts totaling for over $24,000 in parts only. Therefore I do not know with 100% accuracy how many miles ago was the restoration done. Although around the time of the mechanical restoration, there is a mentioning of tachometer rebuild, so I assume it was zeroed out at that time and the car has traveled 11,700 miles since. After 2006, the restoration continued, which was more focused on the cosmetics. 9The main bulk of the mechanical stuff like the complete engine rebuild, gearbox, clutch, suspension, etc was done around 2006.) I do not know if it's matching transmission as there was no number provided on the COA. I am not familiar with any specific upgrades done to the engine with the exception of the upgraded Chain Tensioners, which is a big must on these cars. The car appears to be sporting a Bursch exhaust system.

    Seller,
    11,700 miles since 2006 restoration?
All mechanicals (engine, transmission, brakes, clutch, suspension) rework/upgrades done in 2006? Nothing else since then?
Is 5 speed transmission original to the car?
What specific upgrades were done to engine?
    What exhaust/muffler system is installed?
    Thanks much.

@Porzak Obtaining a 1974 911 rear decklid is not difficult at all. I spoke about putting the car back to stock. What really matters that stays original is the motor and transmission. Plus the matching color otherwise you are looking to spend big money for a repaint back to stock.

  • Porzak (registered bidder) 4 years, 11 monthsago

Will the original engine deck lid come with this car?

  • mulsanne79 (seller) 4 years, 11 monthsago

@Porzak Thank you for your input. I think the Carrera Tribute "touch" on this car is really not the main feature eventhough it's in the title of this ad. What this car has really going for it is the color and the ownership history. I think whoever gets this car will want to eventually put it back to stock, which won't be difficult at all. So in that regard, it's actually a plus that the flares were not added.

  • Porzak (registered bidder) 4 years, 11 monthsago

Nice car, but a poor "Tribute" to the 1974 Carrera. The main feature that distinguished the Carrera from other 911s in '74/'75 were the flared rear fenders that became standard on the later SC. It appears odd to see the ducktail and side script sans correct fender flairs. But, that being said, it is a pretty car and very ownable/driveable for someone who is not that model-conscious.
