Now up for auction is this 1974 Porsche 911 2.7 L Sunroof Coupe finished in Black. Reported to have been under the care of its original owner in California up until the seller's recent purchase in 2020, this 911 is said to have been well maintained over the years with a comprehensive collection of records included. It is now being offered in excellent driving condition by its seller in Indiana, accompanied by original books, tools, and a clean title.
This 911 is said to have undergone a professional glass-out respray in Black during the 1990s under the original ownership. Steel fender flares were also previously installed for a more aggressive appearance. The original color of the car is reported to have been brown and the paint is said to be in good condition with some chips as depicted in the photo gallery. Some details include chrome window moldings, a single driver’s side mirror, tinted windows, a front spoiler, chrome “sugar scoop” headlight bezels, and factory 15” Fuchs wheels. Pirelli P6000 front and BF Goodrich Comp T/A rear tires are said to be in good condition for driving.
The black interior is noted to be in great shape except for some imperfections in the headliner and a few cracks depicted around the central dashboard speaker. An aftermarket Alpine radio and door speakers have been installed and the headlight dimmer switch was recently replaced along with the headlight relays. The seller confirms all gauges and accessories to be working properly.
This 911 is equipped with an air-cooled 2.7 L flat-six fuel-injected engine (SN: 6145289) that sends 150 HP stock to the rear wheels through a type-915 5-speed manual transmission. The engine is reported to have been completely resealed within the last 2 years along with the replacement of the clutch, although there is no corresponding invoice available. Upon the seller’s recent purchase, a thorough inspection was conducted, the rear axle joints were rebuilt, and the CV boots were replaced to bring the car up to excellent mechanical standards. Many service records are included and this 911 is said to be in strong running order.
This sale will include a set of 2 keys, the original maintenance books with service stampings, tools, a spare tire, a car cover, and a clean title. European H4 headlights are also available from the seller. With all routine service reported to be up to date, this 2.7 L 911 makes the perfect driver-grade example for any air-cooled enthusiast.
