Presented in Silver Metallic over a black interior, this 1974 Porsche 911 Coupe highlights a factory “enthusiast” specification, equipped without a sunroof, fog lights, power windows, or air conditioning. It also features 15” Fuchs wheels, European-spec bumpers, Bilstein shocks, an upgraded ignition module, larger heat exchangers, and a Whale Tail rear spoiler. This classic air-cooled 911 is now being offered for auction out of California.

This non-sunroof Coupe has been refinished in Silver Metallic from its factory Metallic Blue color and features chrome window moldings, pop-out rear quarter panels, European-spec bumpers, updated flag-style mirrors, a Turbo-style Whale Tail spoiler, and 15” Fuchs forged alloy wheels dressed in Pirelli P4 tires. A matching full-size spare wheel is mounted in the front trunk. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.

The black interior includes a pair of manually adjustable leatherette seats, folding rear seatbacks, a four-spoke leather steering wheel, manual window cranks, and door-mounted speakers paired with a Blaupunkt radio. The seller notes the door panels and rear compartment were modified under previous ownership to accommodate the aftermarket speaker installation.

Equipped with Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection, the air-cooled 2.7-liter flat-six engine delivers up to 150 HP to the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual gearbox. The seller states an upgraded ignition module has been installed along with larger heat exchangers and Bilstein shock absorbers. There are no outstanding maintenance items reported at this time.

This sale will include a spare tire and a clean title.

The seller would like you to know: “The car drives like a well-maintained 911 should with the renowned 6 cylinder 2.7L Porsche engine strong and powerful and the 5-speed manual transmission has a very smooth transmission shift with no synchro problems as is typical for these year models and the engine's temperature always remains cool.”

@wmcnair yes there are signs of an accident repair on the front passenger side but the car has a clean title, not salvage. Thanks for your interest

Seller, for transparency, could you please answer the following questions (asked previously):
Do you have the original rear engine deck lid?
Do you have the original parts that have been removed?
Is the tool kit and jack included?
It’s not clear in the pictures, but pics 111 and 112 show that some bodywork has been done, do you have any information?

    Thank you

Apologies if I missed but were any preventative or upgraded parts put in to address the common 2.7L shortcomings? Saw the bit about no outstanding maintenance or cooling issues but just wondering if there was anything more definite

  • wcclassics (seller) 5 months, 2 weeksago

@AirCooledEddie all modifications have been noted in the description Eddie, it’s a CA car and there is no Carfax available for any car pre 1981

  • AirCooledEddie (registered bidder) 5 months, 2 weeksago

Questions that have not been answered. Any history on where this car has been over the years.
What are the loose wires in the engine compartment. Is the injection aftermarket? You are a dealer so I’m sure you can post the carfax.
The modifications are wrong for this car, Do you have the original parts that have been removed?

@SoCal4me thank you for your comments. Yes we always have our cars photographed both in the showroom in artificial light and outside in natural light in order to make sure the correct impressions are given.

  • froggycar (registered bidder) 5 months, 2 weeksago

From the pictures, I see that there appears to be some rust repairs around the body. Can the seller please tell us more about the car's history, such as where it resided and when it was painted? Thanks

  • froggycar (registered bidder) 5 months, 2 weeksago

Hello, do you have the original rear engine deck lid? Thanks

  • SoCal4me (registered bidder) 5 months, 2 weeksago

Thank you for the multi-exposure pictures for each view...sometimes different elements are highlighted that a viewer might miss with only one exposure. Very thoughtful.

Will those after market mirrors and whale tail come off without leaving any newly drilled holes so it can be put back in its original condition?
